Here is the one and only way you can return to rapture.
Nooo! A prequel would work brilliantly!

Think Prototype meets BioShock meets GTA! That's the BioShock I long for.
Thats just the thing, they already had a prequel, its was Bioshock 2's Multiplayer.

well, I always fancied the idea of going to Rapture in the modern age, and seeing that Rapture is all repaired and shit, being that there were no longer little sisters to gather adam, so Rosie's (the big daddy kind) had fixed all the leaks, which is kinda what the Rivet Gun was originally designed for =P.
and that Andrew Ryan respawned in a vita chamber, especially because, well, the vita chambers were kinda programmed to work only with Andrew's DNA, hence why Jack could spawn in them

I could care less about the first Bioshock,
So you're interested in it a little at least?

[small]From now on, I will pick on anyone says "I could care less...".[/small]
I've been told that "couldn't care less" is suppose to be bad grammar.

I just do not know anymore >_>

Whoever told you that is a moron.

If you "could care less" then at the very least you care a little bit. If you "couldn't care less" then you don't care at all.

Also im i like the only one who though Bioshock 2 was a great game.Sure the multiplayer sucked, but the singleplayer was really good and the story was alot more emotional than the first.
E.g SPOILER when sinclair was turned into a big daddy i was genuinly upset by it (i didnt cry just upset) END SPOILER
also the combat was far improved

Already confirmed he will NEVER return by 2K, and you could tell already in the game as you can see the vita chamber is turned off. Also:

the only reason Jack could use the vita chamber is because he was the gentic son of Andrew Ryan

OT: Good to see 2K are keeping their options open. Also good to see they are making sure the next bioshock in rapture will actually be good before they will greenlight it.

I think an eventual return to Rapture would be a marvelous thing - if they leave it alone for a long time first. Perhaps years from now, Bioshock Infinite will have been and gone, along with other sequels in the franchise taking place in underground metropolises, steampunk space stations, a gigantic, ancient amusement park and a crossover with Silent Hill.

The PS4 and XBOX3 will have been sitting next to our TVs for a many comfortable years, bringing us such classics as Final Fantasy XVII and Resident Evil 8. Then one day, we'll pick up a copy of Guitar Hero: Hits of the 1930s and all sixteen peripherals to play it with, and the songs will jog our memories of edging slowly around art deco corridors, searching for a Power to the People station. We'll all look back on Rapture fondly, wondering about how many other stories it had to tell and how many mysteries were left unsolved, and then it'll come - the announcment of the return to Rapture, so many years after we last escaped - and we will rejoice at the opportunity to crawl through those hellish hallways once more.

yes I know that, still,
they said in the game that Andrew's DNA was the only one working on the vita chamber, even though similar dna's could work too, yet, in bioshock 2 lamb said that vita chambers are not activated unless the victim dies of a trauma, aka, getting shot to death, 9-ironed in the face, etc
even though it still bugs me how delta could work on vita chambers =P

fair point you have there may I add, seems like someone's been doing it's homework

Well... I Would really like a game taking place in Rapture before everything went crazy.
Perhaps playing as a mobster in Raptures underworld.
That's....a really good idea

*sigh* its getting to the point where I'm begining to see Bioshock as less and less like a game written by a genius and more by someone who got lucky. I'll keep an eye on the new one but this seems like sheer desperation. Half Life as a series was greatly improved by their sense to nuke black Mesa and force themselves to create a new world. Willingness to regress is only going to end up hurting the game in the future.

Ken, next time you think about making another Bioshock game just slap yourself on the wrist and try to think about something original instead.
You guys didn't read any part of this other than the title, right?

How about returning to the Von Braun for a while, or at least to the Tau Ceti 5 region? Let Bioshock rest for a while.

Nahhh that doesn't count at all. You never actually see the city alive, in it's prime. What I'm proposing is a BioShock game with Prototype-esque world progression (as you progress through the mission, Rapture slowly descents into chaos, people over-splicing more and more, guerilla attacks, increasing police forces, etc etc, and ultimately civil war) with a GTA-like mission structure (expand on BioShock's 1 free-roaming) and all the good stuff we know from BioShock.

That's not even remotely like BioShock 2's multi.

It would be pretty cool. I understand what's he's saying, Bioshock was one of the best 360 games and he doesn't want to shut the door just because 2 came out. I really doubt 3 would be as good as the original but so far nothing has topped that. I guess only time will tell on whats happens to Rapture

It'd be damn nice if people would bother to read past the title. He's stated he won't go back to Rapture unless the idea is good, goddamnit, read the full fucking article. Bioshock 2 wasn't his creation, I still trust Levine whole heartedly with this franchise.
