Im starting to see people already having Bioshock 2 and im curious what stores have it already?
I know this happens with a few games, but still, i find it sad that it couldent of been released on time, and that just one person had to get it early so that others can download it/get their own copies as well.
Only good thing i see from this is that the achievements will have early guides, which will help out i suppose.

is it on things like steam like "regular jackoff is now playing bioshock 2"? or are people saying they have it? either way its a lie.

I'm sure there are people who have it early.

We call them pirates.

And they are naughty.

Shops break release dates all the time.

Its normal, games get leaked onto the web.

Edit - Don't understand the whole "its fake" when people are playing it on Xbox Live right now.

Pirated, pirated, do you guys even read the rest of the fucking thread?!

And I can only say that I agree with Sir Ollie in this thread. Some store just broke its release date, and considering the picture shows the words "Edizione Speciale", it's probably from some smaller shop from that certain country that just decided to sell it earlier.

A store across the street from where I work usually breaks the official sales date by just selling the games as soon as the shipment arrives.

For a small retailer it's probably the only way he can compete with Game and Gamestation and supermarkets. By selling early he gets to make sure his first shipment sells out which means his small family business doesn't go bankrupt in the face of cutthroat competition. If he was charging above the RRP I might have an issue with what he's doing since he doesn't... good luck to him.

If it's not some store breaking street-date, I reckon it'll be those with promo copies. *Jealous*.

Not sure if this is the same on games, and I'm betting it is, but on books that is illegal. On Albums and Films I believe it's frowned upon by the distributors but I'm unsure if it's illegal as well.

I'm not sure where it stands legally to be honest. Still, the guy is just trying to make a living and I think breaching the sales date by a week is pretty much a victimless crime - assuming it is a crime at all.

Ethically, if not legally, I'd say he's done nothing wrong.

Breaking news

HMV just texted my mate saying he can pick up his copy of Bioshock 2 3 days early, and he's off to do that now.

I think this explains everything.

Victimless crime? Lies! What about those of us who get the plot ruined by twats who spoil what happens in the game because they get an early copy?!
While I do exaggerate and kid, it does happen.

On topic, yea there are copies floating around from stores early releasing and pirated copies are out there (have been for 2-3 days).

I would argue that people who post spoilers without warning are the real criminals, not the man selling the game which is why I'm not going to post *anything* about the plot or gameplay until after the offical release date.

Doom 3 was leaked onto the PC, my Uncle managed to complete it about six months before it officially came out.

It's in shops, they're just not supposed to be selling it.

I know: I work for one.

However, an indie store has both the regular and special available for sale. They break street date with every title (except for MW2, they're not stupid)

I used to get games before the release date by telling the shop, when I preordered it, that I was going on holiday the day before the release date and they would give me the game a couple of days early.
