What happens if someone just pops the balloons or stops the fans?
I don't know? What happens when you open a window in Rapture?
Well they at least had potential excuses for that, like for example the windows just don't open, and most of the windows are extremely thick and hard to shatter. But balloons are not bulletproof, and fans require electrical stations, which are also not bulletproof.

The audio is really fucked up. It's never in time with the video, and it's really annoying me, so I just gave up.

It looks interesting I guess. Different than the previous two to be sure.

I like the steampunk vibe and the apparent Mech Daddy design (hmm, I better put a patent on that name). Still... a flying city at the beginning of the 20th century? Come on, guys... Rapture was hard enough to swallow as a concept, but now you're just trying to see what you can get away with.
I feel there's about an equal amount of positive and negative potential in this setting considering the franchise and the genre it's rooted in. Can't say I'm holding my breath, but I'm fairly certain I'll play it once it hits shelves.

-EDIT- Oh yeah, one thing I forgot... why the hell does this need to bear the name 'Bioshock'?! Couldn't it just have been '______ Shock'? We're out of Rapture now, dammit... unless this is a direct prequel using that name is just shameless milking of the cash cow.

Yeah, but they're not balloons, it takes more than rubber and hot air to lift that much weight off the ground.

If you looked at the German zeppelins of the 20s and 30s, they were made out of hardened metal alloys to encase heated hydrogen and helium, even hard enough to stop certain bullets.

Now if you take the idea of a zeppelin which do exist and cross that with the overly exaggerated world of steam punk, then I don't see suspension of disbelieve being an issue.

I personally think this looks pretty god damn awesome. If I had to guess, I'd say it's some sort of alternate future where Adam gets out to the rest of the world.

I'm gonna go watch that again.

EDIT: Never mind, apparently this takes place in 1912.

That's even more awesome then I thought.

It looks interesting I guess. No need for the Bioshock label to be on there though.
I've given a story as to why the Bioshock label is on there.

Go check it out.
Wow, I feel stupid now. -_-

Thank you. That makes sense, and I probably would've realized that if the damn trailer was watchable.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. I loved BioShock, and BioShock 2 was fun, but disappointing on the lack of a great story that made BioShock so great.

When I saw that this city was in the sky, I was just... Ho-Lee Shit. This has the potential to be great, if they incorporate new levitation-esque Plasmids and really put you on the edge of your comfort zone, out on blimps and such.

Taking Bioshock to the skies is an interesting idea. Plus it seems that we'll be getting a protagonist with a proper name rather than a dull codename and hopefuly a strong personality. The likely omission of Little Sisters would be welcome, as long as they don't just replace them with something else with the same fumction.

Looks interesting.
I, for one, have yet to be disappointed by the Bioshock series.
Although It does kinda bug me that they're still calling it BIOshock. Since it's not set in Rapture it feels... wrong to call in Bioshock. I'm sure they could have called it something else but still used the -shock name.
Then again... maybe it's 100% percent appropriate. Too soon to judge.

slightly disappointed... really wanted to see rapture in it's prime/downfall to insanity

but nevertheless, if it's promising bioshock esque plot, gameplay, graphics etc, then this is still my christmas (probably 2012) present

who knows, maybe the sky city will become a better location than rapture (but not likely)

is it just me or did irrational rip off the sky city thing from skybreaker by kenneth opel (great book)

since the bioshock series are my favourite games of all time (yes yes haters, bioshock 2 is still a great game, but just couldn't live up to the titanic expectations set by it's predecessor), I have high hopes and higher expectations of this game. hopefully it won't do 'a bioshock 2' although in the bioshock scheme of things, the bar has been lowered by bioshock 2

I await with baited breath

Great trailer, but I'm rather underwhelmed. I'm pretty sure we haven't seen it all yet. I read a 1UP interview with Ken Levine, and despite what the trailer leads you to believe, this is actually much more than just "Bioshock in the sky". We have a main character that actually has a personality, a different kind of atmosphere (Really bright and colorful in comparison to Bioshock 1 & 2's grimy dark underwater vibe), new types of powers (Centered around psychic abilities) and a theme about American idealism (The city, which is being called Columbia, is actually more like a Death Star than an actual city).

Color me interested, but I was more looking forward to an original IP.

I'm a big Bioshock fan, but... Um... what?

Does this have anything to do with the Bioshock series?

It really looks interresting, but why still have the label Bioshock when its not set in Rapture?

And a flying city? Wtf? Isnt that going a little to far.

Only he wouldn't be born yet.

MY THEORY IS FOOLPROOF.
I know, I know. I hadn't read the synopsis when I said that.
