Bioshock: Is it worth 20$?

Everybody's standards & preferences are different. Fallout 3 is far more to your taste than Bioshock. Both are great games, but F3 will give you those "tons of hours" of gameplay that you're used to. Plus, it's far more an RPG than Bioshock. Bioshock is more like a good movie, (granted, it's a 10-ish hour long one,) you might want to watch a 2nd time. You'll still be on your 1st play through of F3 in the same time you'd beat Bioshock for the 5th time. 5th time is a very rough estimate. The 1st time I beat it I didn't get to a third of the locations on the map. (Game ends when you complete the main story line. The GotY ed. lets you play after you beat it though.)

Seriously, I live in Australia and it was worth every cent of the one hundred dollars it cost to be given to me. So twenty dollars for a masterpiece is a damned steal.
Do it.

If you don't I'm gonna hunt you down and rub your tummy! Trust me, you don't want me doing that. 20$ is a great deal anyway, can't see why you shouldn't get it! One of the greatest FPS's of all time....... OF ALL TIME!

The thread should be:

"Is Bioshock worth $10,000?"

and the answer would be:

"No, it is worth $20,000"

I bought it for 20 bucks:

Yes it is fun to play again.

It is worth 50 bucks.

You should get it.

I know that I was glad buying it for 20 bucks with the happiness of a 50 dollar game.

I'd say no, it's not. I'm unsure how it got so much praise tbh, I'm sure you can find system shock 2 cheaper, which is pretty much a cooler, cyberpunk version.

It turns out I still have a bit of change left in my paypal account, and I was wondering if Bioshock would be worth purchasing for 20 bucks? I've heard lots of good things about it, but I just want to know so certain things about it from other people.

1)Is there replayable? Will I want to play this more than one time through?
2)Are there achievements for the PC version, know this, it can probably answer #1
3)I keep seeing it under RPG? Is it really an RPG? From what I can remember from images and video from a while back, it looked more like an FPS style game or an Oblivion style game.
4)How long is it?
5)Would you recommend me getting it for 20$? and if not, can you think of any other games I could get off of Steam for under 30$?
first off, its worth a lot more

and to answere you

1) hell yea! i just replayed it for the past couple of days and love it, and you will want to play it a lot
2) from what a friend said, there is
3) its a FPSRPG with some rpg elements, mainley twicking your stats (I went with a wrench beast sorta thing)
4) i would say a good many hours (I lost count)
5) GET IT!

1) i only played through once and have never touched it again
2) I dont know about PC cause I got it on xbox
3) it is an FPS with rpg elements. It is really just an FPS that lets you customise some stuff, like psychic powers and weapon upgrades
4) Not that long, look at about 10-20 hours
5) I got it on sale for $20 and yeah I would say it is worth it, It isnt that good of a game everyone claims it to be. The story line was ok i guess, but I kinda guessed what was going on anyway... but i tend to be good at stuff like that :p
Mind you I did buy it for my brother cheap for xmas, so i must give it some credit if you buy it for someone else :)
If i didnt have them already and had a spare $20
You can get tourchlight and TF2 for cheap this weekend, both $10 each.

On steam it comes without achievements, but it's quite fun to replay the game with a different array of plasmids and upgrading separate weapons. 24-shot clip on a normal 6-shooter revolver FTW. It's fun to go through the game and research nearly everything with the camera. It's a FPS with items but no leveling. You can get 8(?) different weapons, each of which is upgradeable at certain spots, but you may only choose one each time. It's worth $20. I'd say it takes about 8-15 hours depending on your skill and how many extra tasks you want to complete. It's worth the $20.

TL;DR:
BUY IT.

Ok, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it now, just one last question before I do...

1) I seem to be running a bit low on space on my main drive on my computer, but there's tons of room on my other drive, will Steam still work just fine if I just copy and paste the files over to the other drive and change the directories and what not?

Just wondering, cause I don't want to lose all my Steam stuff over this mishap. Like it somehow wont be able to find some of the system files in the main drive or something weird like that =/

You know, if you can get it for $20, you should buy it just for the art style.

If you consider yourself a gamer or even a human being I demand that you get it, play it through to the end and put yourself into cryogenic suspension until Bioshock 2 comes out. It is just that good, but I recommend the PS3 version because it has the Survivor difficulty level.

Yeah, it's definitely worth it for 20. Can't say much about replay value though. I guess there is some, but I haven't tried.

If you don't mind....

In case you aren't getting the message, Bioshock is easily one of the best FPSs of this gaming generation. I'd say it's worth upwards of $60. Buy it.

No; Bioshock was probably one of the least enjoyable games I've had the misfortune of playing on the Microsoft XBox 360 console.
