Bioshock Question

I'm playing through the 1st Bioshock again before I start playing the 2nd one and I'm trying to collect the audiologs. Now, I've gone and done something a bit stupid: I put it on a difficulty that's a little too hard for me!

Does anyone know whether or not this will affect my audiologs that I've collected so far if I drop the difficulty down? (I'm not too far into it, but I'd rather not start again if I can help it, as I've already spent hours on it making sure I have all of them!)

You find it too hard? I always thought BioShock was too easy. :/

Anyways, I wouldn't risk it, I'd either tough it out to the end on the difficulty you're on right now or start over, that is if you are really after the achievments.

As far as I know, altering the difficulty only affects the difficulty achievement. I don't see why changing the difficulty would affect the audiolog achievement. Just finding all those stupid little things is challenging enough! :/

I was thinking that myself. I'll drop it down cos I really don't want the challenge right now, I just wanna get the diaries and a few other collectibles so I need to make it as easy for myself as possible.

I don't think that it affects the achievement, but be safe and continue. You'll learn how to use telekinesis effectively, and then no one can stop you.

Difficulty changing in most games just change the combat play it shouldn't affect your ability to collect the audiologs

Are you playing on survivor or hard? Because they're both really easy until you fight Big Daddy's. Use you plasmids to their fullest, try and get other splicers to fight the Daddy's too. Electric and exploding buck also work wonders.
Make sure you have one of the sportsboost tonic plasmids and try your best to either trap the Big Daddy or avoid him as you whittle down his health.
Remember, he's faster than you and will kill you in about 4 hits.

Because a note comes up saying that changing the difficulty affects achievements and I just wanted to be 100% sure. There's no harm in asking, always better to get a second opinion when you're unsure about something. I was asking for help, not snippy comments.

true enough, but I think it says in that warning that it only affects the difficulty achievements

I can't blame you for being cautious, it'd suck to have to find them all again.

Me without snippy comments is like a Big Daddy without a Little Sister so don't count on me changing anytime soon. If you had never played a game before then I'd probably understand but I'm sure you're smarter than that.

Save before you change the difficulty, then, if things go wrong, you just load that save?

Same here. Especially when you get your hands on the crossbow.

It shouldn't if you do. Only the diffculty achievements will be affected by changing the diffculty mid-game.
