Well...honestly, I'm fine with this. I was against the Day 1 DLC for, say, RE5, but that was because it was a)Needless (who needs a VS. mode in a RE game?) b) it was on the disk and c)going along with b, they made you pay for content literally on the disk.

This is different though, since they give it to us for free. I like this idea, certainly better for combating piracy than DRM.

OK then, allow me to reiterate.
How does this limit piracy? If you can pirate the game, what limits you from pirating the DLC as well?
My main argument here is that someone who will pirate the game will most likely include the DLC in the same package, especially since it comes free with every copy of the game to begin with. It'll be included in the pirated game from day 1. Unless there's some awesomely, super-duper crypto-security stuff going on, in which case it'll find its way around pirate island on day 4 instead of 1.

The only real reason I see for this is, as others have suggested, to get some money out of second-hand sales.

People who are playing a cracked or used copy won't be able to experience the "complete" game.

To be fair Bioware have hinted that people who buy the game used will be able to buy the Cerebus Card Code seperately. So if you get it used you can, hopefully and eventually, get the DLC as well.

I pre-ordered and paid off my copy of ME-2.

I'm wondering what will carry over, and when you will get the items from the pre-order and Dragon Age Origins. I'm also wondering how the Blood Dragon armor will stack up to the Terminus suit, and if the DLC/Preorder/DO content is going to pigeon hole me into playing certain types of characters to use my benefits.

You don't HAVE to use those armours.
You don't HAVE to only play through the game once.
