I find it pretty silly of people saying that the "destroy the reapers" ending, which also kills the geth, is bad because they put so much effort into saving the geth only for them to be destroyed as well
it's not bad, it's the catch
you can save the galaxy from being exterminated but you will exterminate an entire race to do it
I think there are a litany of things that the ending can be called, many constructive, many not constructive, all of the heartily believed in.

Two races actually, one deserving (if you want to destroy it) the other undeserving...and I wondered how that 'kill all synthetics' button actually worked...or are we just sticking with the 'space magic' answer?
Considering that even though I picked the destroy ending and
and EDI got out of the ship after my LI, not very effective

Unless the whole indoctrination thing is true, and they're going to expand on that, they should just leave the endings alone. We don't need a happy ending. Hell, I would actually think less of the game if the ending has us turning the reapers to sunshine and candy, being named lord protector of earth and drinking with Garrus on some sunny beach. Allthough that might be 'cause the animation for drinking looks horrible...

If they want to flesh out the existing endings, on the other hand, I guess I wouldn't object. I would like to see what happened after I activated the crucible, and just what I bought with my life (I didn't make it. Went for synthesis).
Well, the thing is that Mass Effect is supposed to be a spiritual successor to Star Wars "Knights Of The Old Republic". It's a work of high fantasy, with a bigger than life hero. It's the kind of story where no matter how bad things get, the hero is supposed to save the day at the end, it was billed that way, and has matched that formula through the rest of the series.

You ARE correct that turning the Reapers into Candy and Sunshine (or Ice Cream, going by Penny Arcade's strip) wouldn't work, but at the same time a surrealistic ending that is open to interpetation, and can be argued as perhaps all taking place in the protaganist's head doesn't really work either. To be honest the entire ending seems to be an attempt to NOT end the game in any definitive way so it can be exploited for later franchise potential.

It's possible to end a game like this on a high note without getting stupid about it. I mean the galaxy is going to be utterly wasted, that's a given, but stopping the Reapers and saving what's left to rebuild DOES fit within the scope of the game. Basically Shepard acheives what he set out to accomplish.

What's more there is one very big thing that upset me, and I guess a lot of other people that has nothing to do with the three ending choies:

Harbinger... we needed to finish business with Harbinger, he was the arch-enemy of Mass Effect 2 and is mentioned a few times in ME 3. The Illusive Man for all his ruthlessness wasn't really an enemy especially as of ME2, he was basically the same thing as Saren except pro-humanity as opposed to anti-humanity like Saren was, hence the potential for him to committ suicide and redeem himself. He's not really the stuff of an epic finale.

Good thing I didn't pay for the Mona Lisa :p
This combined with your avatar is pure gold.
Well you have one of the best user names on here so I consider us even. Nobody fucks with a CR 24.
Chromium ftw... ?
Master of magnet is a pretty trolltacular title as well, and every time I see your avatar, I remember that I still have to finish watching Darker than Black, lol.

Captcha: brush your teeth (in what looks like blood ink drawn with a fingernail...) ._.
challenge rating: 24. 3rd edition dnd ftw :)

Ahhhh. You see, my Torrasque is from Starcraft, while Tarasque is from DnD.
I don't mind the misconception since Torrasque is ninja'd from DnD, but there is that difference there.

When I still played WoW, I met a guy a long time ago that thought my name was offensive because it wasn't the DnD Tarasque =|

I'm still a firm believer of the indoctrination theory.

If Bioware manage to pull off what I think they're pulling off, it will be awesome.
I think it would be silly for them not to run with it honestly. Most the work is done for them.
Of course, if they do run with it, prepare for a new firestorm of ME3 threads, this time with people gloating and calling all the haters of the original ending and/or indoctrination theory 'indoctrinated'. I'm all for them running with it, but I don't look forward to the Gaming Discussion forum being jammed up by ME3 threads for another month if this comes to pass.
I think going down their own path is the best option. I take the indoctrination theory with a giant grain of salt since it's just a theory that happens to fit the facts. I wouldn't even call it a theory, more speculation.

I only just found this article because I read another ME3 article which sort of eluded to the fact that ME3 might might have it's ending changed.

1. Absolutely ridiculous
2. I can guarantee that if they do - there will still be a ton of whiners and the very best they can hope to achieve is pleasing 50% of the games owners. (which would be nothing short of a miracle)
Nothing will please these moaners. Even if the game ending is changed, the majority will still *****.

What a waste of time.

someone will complain about something -thats life. But i do think they have a point as the ending is weak. Plus lets just wait and see what they do.

Besides that i read some where who ever came up with the ending it was to make us talk or disscuss it -i have a feeling that this is marketing or other people forcing something in to the game -though this is only a speculation. I personally think the ending was probably a rushed idea they probably spent more time on the reset of the game and it is probably just something that was as it has been said "a good idea at the time". Lets just see were this goes so lets all stop going ape shit over this and go do something important-if you need to find fault look at state or local gov. -usually a bunch of corruption to be angry about.
