BioWare Gives Liara a Reduction Mammoplasty

BioWare's Liara T'Soni statuette will hit the shelves with her assets considerably deflated.

In September 2011, BioWare sought feedback on the prototype statuette of Liara T'Soni, the Asari biotic who helped Commander Shepard save the Citadel in the original Mass Effect. And feedback it got, specifically in relation to Liara's breasts, which were, well, gargantuan. Mammoth. Humongous. Like a couple of volleyballs stuffed into tube socks. You get the idea.

The statuettes are being developed in partnership with Japanese company Kotobukiya [http://main.kotobukiya.co.jp/artfx_mass_effect_liara/] and are meant to be a "bishoujo"-style rendition of the character, which helps to explain the malproportioned look, but the original design was still a bit much for an awful lot of fans to swallow. BioWare, to its credit, appears to have heard the complaints and acted upon them, as newer images of the statuette reveal a Liara packing considerably smaller guns.

It still looks nothing like Liara, it's still striking a ridiculous pose and its focal point is still a healthy set of Asari jugs mashed together in the classic "pay attention to me on MySpace" fashion. It is, in other words, still the reduction of a brilliant, conflicted scientist to a cheap slab of fanboy cheesecake. But hey, at least her boobs are smaller. Until BioWare releases a statuette of Zaeed in a banana hammock, I suppose we'll have to take what small victories we can.

Much better than the first. Though, I do believe I made a complaint about the face, but whatever.

No amount of breast reducing is gonna make it not look like a baby's head on a stripper's body.

That pose is fucking ridiculous.

Oh man Liara looks like she's in one of those Japanese animes!

I don't understand why they're contracting a Japanese company, who is giving the character a Japanese influenced look...

It's still very awkward, and still looks nothing like Liara. Though I do admit I have no clue what boshoujo is.

...

Now that would be bad for everybody.

As (I actually don't have a word that accurately describes my feelings towards this) as this is. It might be appropriate to mention that Asari do live for 1000+ years and Liara's less than 110 years old. This could be a result of alien puberty.

I know it's not a good excuse for (what ever this is) but it might work depending how her character is written in Mass Effect 3.
If Bioware didn't dump their writing team for the sake of adding more cover and holographic knifes.

It translates to Cute Girl.
I guess they are trying very hard in that regard, then. It's just not for me.

Because apparently there is a market for turning westen friction female characters into anime girls figures-

If you mean just having a non anime version of her than I don't know why they went for the anime version in the first place since I would assume people would of prefer the non anime look.

I guess if you measure sexism in cup size, this is slightly better.

If, however, you're a normal person, it's no change at all.

For the record, I would buy a Zaeed banana hammock statuette in a heartbeat.

A heartbeat.

I pre-ordered this months ago. I would have bought it even with the previous bust size people were complaining about. I personally like the style, as not only am I a fan of the Mass Effect Series; I am also a rather large anime/Manga fan as well.

People need to calm down and learn how to not complain at things they probably wouldn't buy anyways.

I'm pretty sure the boobs were problematic too.
Well given how dedicated some ME fans were I'm sure most of the problems were with how the statue did not accurately recreate the aroma of Asari sweat and skin pigments.
