Oh well, it'll be interesting to see how this ends up.
Have you seen the GTTV episode on it, as well as the GDC presentation?
Yeah. Cool and all, but I really want some more clues about the story, beyond "Oh yeah, Shepard's dead, but he isn't" and "You may kinda meet the Illusive Man". I guess what I'm really wondering is if those Collectors from the second novel are just Red Herrings, or if they'll actually be important. And I want to know if we go to the Migrant Fleet (although, now that I think about it, it might be more epic if we don't know that part beforehand).
Me too, and I can't wait. But did you notice anything interesting? Because Tali is definitely there at one point; Nassana (as in Dantius) is mentioned.

But the work they're showing on the cutscenes is astounding. The flying car bit was the sort of thing that was visibly an improvement over the first game.
Hm...I didn't really notice Tali or Nassana, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're there (and, as you know, I love Tali, so it's good to know she's coming back). I did notice something interesting in their demo of the new combat (which is already looking more fluid, by the way); They seem to be reloading. Somehow this interests me greatly.
where did you see that demo

And chainsaw hands? But let me get on topic. I wouldn't mind giving up Shepard, if and only if, it turns out the geth has taken over Shepards body. That would mean that in Mass Effect 2, you fight Shepard from Mass Effect 1. What a twist, or not. But it would be epic.

Weird, I saw a different demo, one that actually showed the combat. No idea where I saw it though.

Weird, I saw a different demo, one that actually showed the combat. No idea where I saw it though.
Was it with a basic room outline, with some placed enemies and white interior? Because that was the only one I remember seeing.

Gamestop has started taking pre-orders and they have it listed it would be shipping 12-31-09.
If someone else has stated this I am sorry to lazy to read through all the comments.
But whenever it is released I am hyped about this game.

Me too. But, looking at my avatar, you probably already knew that. My only qualm about this game so far is that Nihlus is not going to be in it.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. He's gone rogue to fight off the Geth/Reapers cause some people thinks he's gone a little nutzo, and he... misplaced his armor or something.

Seriously, it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

Yeah, he gets killed by Saren in the first mission. I still say Bioware missed a prime side-quest opportunity with that (actually RebelRising's idea); having you attend Nihlus' funeral, with his eulogy being given by Saren before he's exposed. That would have been...intense.

"Oh shit, I'm gon-AAAHHH!!" *Zzzzaawwww!!*

Anyway...I still demand the option of being able to play a different race.

Refresh my memory, if you would; is that Nassana, as in the "Yarr! My sister be a space pirate! Yarr!" Nassana, or a different one? As in, the one that gives you an Assignment to 'rescue' her sister when it is really to kill her.

Why is everybody assuming we play as Shepard throug the entire game? He might die at the start. Or we might not play as him at all.

I suspect it will be like Kotor 2, where your savegame affects the backstory.

Because Bioware said the entire trilogy would follow Shepard?

Yep, that's her, Nassana Dantius, the diplomat ***** with the pirate sister.
