when will people shut the fuck up about immersion. Immersion is nothing more than enjoying what you're playing not forgetting you're playing a game. Boring games kill immersion, not motion controls by themselves. And why is it that people think you have to perform every motion when it's brought up. With the exception of kinect, nothing involving motion controls is devoid of you pressing buttons, quit exaggerating.

I completely disagree with everything in this thread. Motion controls as they are are not immersive. For those of you who have played Wii sports, whilst playing, did you ever once think "Wow it's like I'm really playing golf!". Or "It's like I'm actually on the court, hitting the ball!". I can guarantee that none of you have (excluding those who have never played a video game once before in their life). It is not immersive for a game to tell you, without warning "OK, so you got to push forward now.", and it is even less do when it tells you to do an equally rediculous movement in the middle of a firefight to melee a guy on the bonce, just as you have just zoned out. I find it more immersive when there is less movement, so you can actually concentrate on the actually game. If someone asked me to sum up motion controls in a few words, I'd say this: "One, big, gimmick.".
