Alright, bout time they release some videos that show gameplay from after 2010. All the other gameplay vids looked pre-KoTOR in age, but these look a hell of a lot better.

DO WANT.

I don't like how the classes are caricatures of famous Star Wars characters. Either let me play as Han Solo (which really isn't possible given the setting and the fact there would be a thousand Han Solos running around) or do something unique. Hey look, I'm a smuggler with a wookie sidekick! Am I Han Solo? No. I'm some generic other guy that existed a thousand years before who just happend to act exactly like Han Solo and who just happend to have a wookie sidekick. Hey look, I'm a bounty hunter who uses jetpacks and flamethrowers and dual pistols! Am I Boba Fett? No. I'm some genertic other bounty hunter with all the same equipment and characteristics whi existed a thousand years before who just happens to be almost exactly the same. Etc.

Listen, nostalgia is great but not worth the cost of trivializing the awesomeness of these iconic characters and settings. Please stop with the watered down Han Solos and Darth Vaders, create new and interesting content that compliments the Star Wars universe rather tries to recreate it with a slight twist.

Anyway, that's how I feel but I'm sure for every me there are two who see the bounty hunter and are all 'Sweet, can't wait to eff some guys uuuuuup Boba Fett styles!'.
At least Bioware didn't spare their own iconic pre-established caricatures......oh wait hk-47.... hey at least the bad guy's emblem is a hexagon instead of a circle! That's totally rad and original.

I, and apparently everyone else to comment so far, is literally buzzing off this trailer.
Makes me wish I had the hardware to run such games. Alas.
..You do know that it's going to demand just as much power as WoW, right?

BioWare has promised this from day 1 to recent FAQ's.

On topic, this has just convinced me further that I'm buying this game, all of it. Thought it saddens me that HK does NOT have the same VA...

Time to pick some nits:

BioWare, if you're going to use a line, at least use the whole line (preferably a recording of Alec Guiness saying it). Its not like it doesn't fit canonically. If anything, the whole line fits better. (and retcons the inferior stories of the prequel trilogy somewhat).

Did anyone else see the text font against the black background and assume this was an error and we were seeing a preview for a new Lord of the Rings game?

I realize they're not supposed to be photorealistic, but something had always bugged me about the graphics in this game. And that shot of Chewbacca a wookee clinched it. The characters look plastic. Far less organic than even KotOR 1 and 2, and only slightly above LEGO Star Wars. It's not such a big deal when you're playing as Boba Fett a Bounty Hunter with that bucket on his head, but "ordinary" human, and more importantly non-human, characters will teeter on the brink of stylization before falling headlong into ugly. Maybe with some polish it'll look better...

I'm not buying those lightsaber duels are real gameplay. It would be spectacular if they were, but they looked more like scripted battles using in-game sprites. That's exactly what I want to do, let my character be awesome while I'm forced to sit there and watch...

Is it really "choosing a side" when your Class automatically dictates your alignments? Yes, you do choose your class, but that makes your in-game relationships and destiny predetermined. I don't like that, especially since the core storytelling mechanics of Knights of the Old Republic were the moral choice systems (not to mention the overrunning themes of redemption). That's WoW's thing, BioWare. You can do better, and you should with this IP.

[/nitpicking]
*deep breath* There, now all that's out of the way...

This game looks like it should be incredibly fun. If I have any time or money left I might give this a spin. The space shooter section was awesome (if "slightly" contrived from StarFox... no, no. done nitpicking...); more space combat, please! The environments were impressive. The aforementioned lightsaber duels (if actually playable) seem pretty cool as well.

I liked the ending with the charging army. Probably not players though. If it was going to be players, then there would be alot more lightsabers.
