bizarre enemy designs

so, we've all had our share of games with, let's say... unorthodox enemy designs, such as the Vores from Quake or charging raptor things from Dead Space 2
you know, enemies that go beyond the regular armed grunt and its variations, from the plain soldier with a gun to the cyborg alien Strogg Guards from Quake 2, that no matter how they look, they're still the same

so, which are the most bizarre enemy designs that you've seen?
I'd go with... well... basically anything from Maken X, but I'll just stick to one
the Panzer Soldiers (based on the Japanese version, which is the one I own)

The headless kamikazes from Serious Sam always struck me as pretty funny looking...

I liked Serious Sam 2 to some extent
granted, some of the levels were so short they were almost pointless [sub]Riverdance[/sub]
but it was still very colorful and creative, and a lot of the environments were pure scenery porn =P

The common angel from Bayonetta. A weird bird-monster-angel-mix that somehow manages to work.

Broodmothers from the Dragon Age Series. For the sake of preserving sanity and innocence I'll not include an image for that.

The stupid ass shadows from Deadly Premonition.

Don't get me wrong, I love that game more then most people, but the shadows looked bloody retarded.

Some of the Demons Souls/Dark Souls bosses just looked bizarre.

When I first saw a Demon in Metro 2033 up close, I shouted 'what is that thing?'

Answer: the hardest to kill, most pointlessly hard enemy who doesn't really bother you much.

The only game to give simultaneously give me nightmares and happy dreams. But I do love Earthbound. OT some of the new Pokemon designs make me wish for the simpler days of blue and red.

Oh god. Giygas. I'd almost forgotten about him (it?).

I think he's less bizarre and more madness-inducing. Doesn't hurt that Giygas is an abstract apotheosis (what with being the physical embodiment of evil and all - ugh, my mind hurts).

OT: I realize he isn't really a enemy per se (you can choose to play as him, after all), but if we're talking about bizarre designs, Arakune from Blazblue is pretty strange overall.

OH I just remembered a good one!

So, we go the original rayman, first level. It's a bright, wonderfully colorful forest full of shiny stones to collect, lakes, exotic vegetation, some ruins, all that good stuff.

You run into some enemies, but it's nothing too out there. Some green-skinned hunters, piranha fish (that fly) etc. etc. and then... you find THIS THING

Spoiler: OH GOD WHY

It's like... WHAT THE FUCK IS IT?!? WHY is it?? It's a monster spawner that literally belches out innumerable of those green hunter guys, whilst grotesquely sliding across the ground and making squelching noises.

And the kicker... there's only one in the entire fricken game. NEVER again does this abomination appear. You only find this affront to nature once early on in the game and never again.

Talk about bizarre...
