Black and White 3

Just now I looked at a forum that seemed to be about black and white 3, and then it was not so, it was about some damn pokemon game. But I was stunned to see how many responses there were expressing disappointment at the lack of a new black and white game. It made me realise that I was not the only one to enjoy that series, and that maybe Peter Moleneux should stop making disappointingly shallow fable games and make a divine new iteration of this godly simulation? Especially considering all the room there is for improvement and new ideas.

Anybody else agree that this would be a good thing? Or maybe we should share ideas?

I still play black and white 2 to this day.Sure it needs improvement, but only small ones.

For its time it was really something incredible. Id be over the moon if a new one was announced. Just as long as the little support characters werent so annoying and the tutorial was skippable.

Yes, a thousand times yes. The Fable games are nothing compared to the B&W games.

And for suggestions: Make the city building aspect like B&W2, the creature should feel like an actual intelligent being again instead of a robot, and the armies should be removed.

However, one thing must be fixed. The unskippable tutorial at the start of 2 made me never want to play it again. Get rid of that. I think 1 had one as well, but it wasn't as obnoxious.

One of the patches fixes that and you can skip right to the Norse world.

The series was brilliant... if you could ignore the several thousand bugs that they had. (Oh god the original was terrible for it). Never really thought about a sequel but since you mention.. it sounds pretty neat. Would be a little more serious than the petty "karma" or paragon/renegade systems that other RPGs seem to have. Would be nice to have this off-the-normal-track game make a return... Shame there's no mention of it at all.

Funny thing is that I actually liked black and white 1 best, because it was more about being a god and less like an RTS/city management game. However Black and white 2 had AMAZING graphics, it was so beautiful...

Sorry where was I? Anyway yeah its great to see I was not the only one who appreciated this flawed yet brilliant series.
I think the best thing for this series to do would be to go back to a tribal setting and introduce gameplay mechanics that deepen the interactivity between the god and his people. IE: assigning a prophet or high priest to speak your holy word, take the form of a wild beast in order to impress other towns, or terrorise them. And proper, old school smiting with actual lightening like in black and white 1, none of this fizzy orb bollocks.

This thread just reminded me of how much I enjoyed raining fire down of Lethys' heathens. A new Black and White 3 would be amazing, but no doubt Molyneux is too busy trying to install USB ports on his own body for AI 'interactivity'.

Sorry but if it's like Black and White 2, frankly I would be disappointed; B&W was good because it didn't have troops, and where were the other single player options? And the start paid absolutely no recognition to what went on before with Nemesis, the movie went on and on, and so could I...

Improve the graphics, add more options, maps, modes etc. and it will be incredible.

I haven't played Black and White in ages. I think I may have to dig through my software bin and see if I still have it now.

I hope it will play on Windows 7!
