Black Flag for the PS4

So I was planning on buying Black Flag now the price has gone down abit but have run into the problem of I have no Idea what's going on with the DLC for the game. Checking on amazon the only PS4 editions are the Jackdaw edition and the Standard edition so I was curious if the PS4 standard version already has the DLC packaged in or if you are required to purchase the Jackdaw edition if you want access.

I don't know about Black Flag itself, but for my own (and based on the internet, numerous others) experience, the DLC is fundamentally broken on PS4, and basically incompletable due to freeze-ups (although you can still shut it down via dashboard).

Sounds like it might be an idea just to sod off the DLC then I wasn't really planning on playing online anyway so compatibility won't be an issue.

The only one worth playing is "Freedom Cry"[footnote]Maybe the cheap elite ship upgrade pack is as well if you hate the diving missions[/footnote], Adéwalé was a great character in Black Flag and his DLC is just more Adéwalé which is awesome. The missions are standard Ass Creed but they are entertaining enough and you get to see more of a good character, oh yeah nearly forgot of course he is of African descent so identity politics and inclusiveness, blah blah, etc etc.

The game alone is great enough for a buy, got it for my wii u and it looks wonderful.

Which DLC is this? I have some of the DLC and it's worked fine for me.

As far as Black Flag itself goes, I say go ahead and just buy it. In my humble opinion, it is probably the best entry in the Assassin's Creed series.

Freedom Cry. It might just be the standalone. Its been tanked for over a year with no sign of fixing it though.

The DLC is a waste of time, except Freedom Cry which was made standalone. It's my favourite AC game so far, the setting and the ship combat is superb. It has the worst on-foot missions in the entire franchise though, so brace yourself for that.
