excuse the double post.Broken Wings said:Now imagine if Freddie Mercury was back there having a duet with Ronnie Van Zant, while Mitch Mitchell was having a drum solo, and they were all eating branston pickle.oliveira8 said:Hendrix and Harrison would make the black hole collapse on itself, and destroy the both Universes.Broken Wings said:And George Harrison.oliveira8 said:I believe theres a cow on the other side.

Assuming the intense gravitational eddies and radiation doesn't tear you apart or liquefy and boil away your internal organs.stabnex said:umm.. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the literal space on the other side. black holes are just collapsed stars that happen to put out ridiculous amounts of gravity (just like regular stars). they're not portals to other dimenions and you've only got a 17% chance of escaping a black hole by being shot out the (what I can only describe as) magnetic poles.

Actually, once you cross the event horizon, you're not getting out. Ever.stabnex said:umm.. A friend's father explained to me why black holes emit radiation.SFR said:Ollie596 said:I like to think of it as a giant garbage disposer taking our crap into another section of the galaxy, have that sector 7 of the milky way!
It doesn't go anywhere, as it's not really a whole. It just sucks up matter that strays to close. It's not even destroyed from what I've read/watched on TV. In fact, sucked in matter and light escape sometimes. Also, a black whole has entropy, so it eventually will (in a VERY LONG time) break and all the matter it sucked up will escape.
Ok, that's it, someone find Bill Nye and kick him in the balls. I'm gonna forget I ever watched that show as a child and remind myself that every word out of his mouth on his show was lies. I'm off to do some fresh research.Theissen said:Actually, once you cross the event horizon, you're not getting out. Ever.stabnex said:umm.. actually Hawking had to concede that stuff does survive a black hole. it was a famous bet, tho i think they changed the reward for the bet cause i remember if Kip won, he'd get a subscription to playboypantallica95 said:i agree with Stephen Hawking on the theory that it might go to a parallel universe, but nothing could survive entering the black hole.
also, i think we should all go and watch an episode of The Universe right now. at least im inspired to.

Yeah, after the implosion it is the entire mass of the galaxy that was sucked into the dying star upon implosion packed extremely tight... this amount of mass is like having a table with a hole in the centre then putting a clothe over it and dropping a marble onto the cloth where the hole is... however, there is a theory saying that as black holes literally bend time and space around them it could be possible that another black hole connects with "this" one and creates a sort of worm-hole that could transport a person from the part of the universe that they are to the part with the other hole... BUT the holes are believed to only be connected for short amounts of time and would most certainly close while anything was trying to get through ripping it into atoms instantly... heck, even the approach to a black hole will take apart anything in strands... a process called spaghettification.BaronXS said:Isn't a black hole just matter with an extremely high level of gravity?
