black opps multiplayer question

I got black opps and love the fact that two people can play online at the same time. However i'm confused on the xp and cod cash system. Does player 2 help get exp and cod cash for player one or for himself? could someone explain it to me.

All of the stuff player 2 gets doesn't count, unless its on the 360 version and then two ppl can log on to 2 live accounts.

On PS3 (the version I play), the guest player doesn't get anything.

but he has a different amount of cod cash and different custom classes. thats what confuses me.
