So when PC users blame devs for shitty ports, they must accept their platform sucks ass too?
That its hard as hell to develop for? And sucks development money?
So there is a double standard for consumer rights because of the platform?
Nice logic there.
Oh and anyone with half a brain would say the devs didn't work hard enough, to fix game breaking bugs.
The PC is a different kettle of fish entirely. Most PC gamers know (or should know) that the PC can be a ***** to develop for. There are so many hundreds, if not thousands of varieties of systems out there and the devs need to try and cater as best they can for as many as possible.

PC gamers generally complain when the port doesn't take into account the fact that it is a PC. It's not uncommon to get a port which hasn't even attempted to cater for the standard Keyboard/Mouse combo. But PC Gamers are somewhat blessed with the fact that their platform allows them to fix a lot of problems themselves without needing to wait for the devs to sort things out.
In the majority of cases, when a game doesn't work on a PC it's because your PC is actually crap and is just not good enough to run the game.

But despite all these thousands of potential problems developing for the PC, on the whole, it still works. The hardware on the standard PC seems to cope well enough with games (which are often just Xbox ports)

Unfortunately for PS3 users, the PS3 seems fairly incapable of running a port. It needs heavy reworking to get the game running at an even half decent level.
Lets face it, the PS3 has serious hardware issues. I'll bring up the Silent Hill 2 HD port which was released last year. The water effects are actually BETTER on the PS2 version. Apparently the PS3 couldn't handle water effects as well as the PS2 did.
To be fair, Konami did a pretty poor job on both PS3 and Xbox HD releases, but yet again the PS3 suffered the most and yet again the blame was put on hardware which just was too hard to work with.

Now when you have dozens of major development teams all saying the EXACT SAME THING, surely it must twig that perhaps the PS3 really does have hardware issues and that perhaps it really is difficult to make a working game on that platform.

I know that for someone who has shelled out their hard earned cash on a PS3 it must be heartbreaking to be told that you're going to get a buggy game compared to other platforms, but that doesn't mean you should put your fingers in your ears and pretend that the problem is not with your console but is in fact caused by every developer in the world hating YOU.

But hey...at least you never bought a Wii.
First point, yes I know PC is different.
And I agree on the whole.
But the thing is is that PC and Xbox have deep similarities in everything so ports generally work well enough.
Hence the blaming of the devs.
Also I don't know much on the subject of supposed hardware difficulties Ps3's have can you please link evidence?
I tried searching myself came up with nothing.

The people that think devs/world/terrorists hate them for their choice of platform are annoying and should get over themselves.

And was not what I was doing, I was asking why a choice of platform made a not fit for purpose product be "what you get" because of a specific platform?
We don't get a right to game breaking fixes that others should expect?
No even if the Ps3 hardware is shit this is bad and they shouldn't release their games on the system anyway!

I generally don't get western developed games for my Ps3 I import a lot of Japanese exclusives and they don't have these problems.

Hell I wish people stopped going multiplatform so much so that the one version we do get is quality!
And most of the game breaking ps3 versions I don't buy to be honest and there aren't that many of them.

The Wii has Fire Emblem. Japanese Fantasy Xcom only with squad members that actually have personality so I actually feel something for them when they die.
Yeah I had one, my sister took off with it TT_TT.

Blacks ops 2 has locked up my ps3 5 times in the past 24 hours. 3 times whilst in a hectic game of zombies and twice while it was simply at the main menu doing NOTHING!!

I really think the devs should be totally ashamed of themselves but there probably sitting there with there millions saying "yup, we did it again, another success".
Thats not black ops thats your ps3.
trust me its black ops. My ps3 never freezes with any other game, and all my other friends are having the same problem but only with zombies.

Got to round 24 last night, 2 of my friends ps3's froze, 1 at round 14 and another at round 17. we got to round 24 and decided to let the zombies kill us in order to save our new highscore. went down, died, black loading screen comes up with the little treyarc symbol in the bottom left corner and i notice its not moving, NOOOOO!!!! it froze on both of us. No new high score and im not playing again until a patch comes out.

I had to stop playing Blops 2 altogether, the lag compensation makes it unplayable 50% of the time.

Thank God I abandoned COD after MW3. Sounds like a mess. For all the pretty graphics and hype it was, I must admit an unhealthy glee in seeing Activision crash and burn so hard.

EA, Activision. Please for the love of pete, develop for consoles and pc all you want, wring money out of the customers and produce linear shooters for all I care. Get your codes right. Valve may be slow as heck but at least they don't seem to have launch problems as much as you do.

Wrong again bob.
Shogun 2 Total War Demo worked just plain peachy on my laptop. Full game came around, wouldn't boot. I LOVE Creative Assembly, but the demo having more hardware compatibility is a rather "interesting" bug I must say.
When you have games for PC that have XBox controllers on the menus, laziness comes to mind.

The PS3 architecture is different, based on the processor more than memory. The Cell processor is a beast to say the least, and more than makes up for the lesser memory on games that have been programmed to use the processor. The PC and Xbox utilize memory more, which is why developers have an easier time because that is what they are used to. Poorly done PS3 ports suffer greatly due to operational differences.
The hardware difference is no excuse for the PS3 to get ignore completely when it comes to DLC. The character models and levels are the same files as they are on all versions, and the code changes needed to access those files almost certainly has nothing to do with the main game engine (all the would need to be altered is the game engine's hardware management code).

The REAL reason that is not done is simple, Microsoft money. Sony has done plenty feature buying as well, of course.

Do PS3 owners expect the following?; "Hey, we just spent millions of dollars and years of work making Skyrim for the PC and Xbox...now lets go back to the drawing board and make it from scratch for the PS3"
Yes. If they want my money, they better Fking do that or dont even release it.

They still did, so never mind, I just play Bethesda games on my friends Xbox from now on. My laptop could still run it, but if they dont care, why should I?

I suspect you want to quote Li Mu here.

Anyway we are in agreement here. Beth games are actually shitty ports where as Dark Souls is perfectly playable.
(Although not with M&K, that I concede they should have done better)

Yes, my bad.
(Whats M&K? I just platinumed Demons Souls, and planning to jump into Dark Souls soon. Is it the DLC?)

On topic: Thank god im not into CoD enough to buy them and have these problems, i mean they are good for a nice and short single player experience, but thats about it, since im not into the multiplayer it doesnt worth the full price for me.

M&K = Mouse and Keyboard :D.
And Black Ops 2 looks like its quality again finally since COD4.
(played COD4 SP only and it was dumb fun, Black Ops 2 looks like its worth a rental)
I was going to rent it for Ps3 but this article saved me 8$ or so!

Oh, haha, well is think i just stick to my PS3 with the Souls series.:)

I did like CoD4, and im trying to catch up on the series, so if i ever end up buying a brand new release ill be in touch with whats going on and how things work. I just got tired of always hearing how "cod sucks", yet everyone buys it on day one and it breaks all records every year. At least now i know they are quite fun games, and far from "sucking", even if they arent my kind of games.

By the way im not sure you would be able to play the multiplayer and get this error on a rented copy anyway. If they still have the online-pass thing someone probably used it already. Though im not up to date with that, last time i had a pass with a game was Dead Space 2 and Mortal Kombat, so more then a year ago.

simple solution for devs... if you arent willing to put the work/money into a title to ensure it works on a platform, dont fucking release it on that platform. i have NEVER had a problem with a ps3 exclusive, pretty much only on the shitty beth games... i usually just chalk it up to microsoft paying for early release and early dlc release, so the devs just make it work for xbox and pc, then arent willing to do the work for the ps3 port.

also, trying to blame the hardware for problems that only exist with certain games is asinine... if it were hardware issues, there would be problems with every game, not just the multi-platform games.
