It was strange but I went to go pre-order the harden edition at Gamestop for the PS3 and they told me it was sold out, it was also sold out at Bestbuy aswell while you could still pre-order the 360 version. Now this could have just been becuase they made more 360 copies though it struck me as odd that the 360 version wasn't the one already sold out.

Now honestly I could care-less since the game is most likely to be the extact same on both-platforms and both will have many players but what do you guys think of this..?

Im going to assume that they made more copies for 360, I mean more people play COD on 360 right? Correct me if I am wrong.

The PS3 has been snowballing in popularity for a while now and I wouldn't be surprised if it was to overtake the 360 at some point in the near future. The fact that these third-party publishers are still making Xbox-exclusive DLC for multi-platform games would suggest that they're just producing less PS3 copies, though.

It's not really that odd. The latest sales figures that I've been able to dig up indicate the PS3 has only sold about 3 million units less than the 360, and those are figures that have the 30th of June for PS3 numbers and the 23rd of July for the 360 numbers.

As for what I think of it... Eh, there might just be more PS3 owners in your area than there are 360 owners. Either that or the 360 owners in your area aren't interested in shooters as much.

A 360 owner who doesn't like shooters would probably be better off buying a brick, they'd get more use out of it.

You sure about that? I cant imagine 360 players playing much else.

I've bought a bunch of 360 accessories and games for cheap from people who are tired of their 360 giving them the 5th E74 or 6th RRoD. Each one of them told me that they were switching to the PS3. It doesn't surprise me at all - the 360 is steadily losing people to the PS3, while the PS3 is hardly losing anyone to the 360. Also, 360 sales figures are including people buying their second/third 360 due to failure, while that's not the case with the PS3, so by now I'd expect there to be more working PS3s out there than working 360s. PSN numbers unfortunately don't differentiate between PS3 and PSP, but the total number is higher than total Xbox Live accounts (by about 2x), so yeah, if the PS3 isn't already past the 360 it will be soon.

What?

C'mon, he has a good point, compare 360 non-shooters to shooters and you'll see that shooters make up the majority of the 360's games.
Also in a way most RPG's are shooters, if you play a game with RPG elements and kill everything via metal shot out of a tube then, personally I dont care what anyone says.
Thats a shooter.
And if I cant have this point of view then you cant mindlessly bash someone just because you dont play the games the 360 was most intended to play.

way to make wild claims without any proof, last time i checked, yes the 360 had more shooters, and it also had more rpgs and pretty much every other genre over competing consoles, but hey this is a forum, actually intelligent conversation is clearly not what we want, lets just throw around garbage false information

I could bother typing up a big ass response to that but you dont even try to see reason.

So let us agree to disagree.

It's about time PS3 sold more of something.

I never would have guessed it's an FPS tho.

Oh wait, the 'facts' for this thread made me think something else. Probably just a local thing.

Which is sad/pathetic/ironic as shooters suck with a gamepad.

Any RPG available on the 360 will very likely be available on the PC too, only it will be better on PC.

I prefer a gamepad actually, I have a nice mouse but I like the tactile response or my DualShock, the mouse makes me feel like I'm waving at my desk, just a preference obviously.

I'm pretty sure some analyst (who shall remain nameless) analysed the crap out of sales figures and claimed that people were jumping ship to the PS3 because of the constant issues with the Xbox360 hardware.

well I think that the playstation is more for "Die-Hard-Hardcore-game-nerds". And call of duty is a Die-Hard-Hardcore-Game.

CoD is a 'hardcore game'?
o_O

But, seriously, it probably depends on the area you live in.
I remember pre-ordering 'Persona 3' at one game stop but then switched it to another one, the guys at the first one were jerks so I said 'screw 'em'.
Point is, at the first GS there was only 3 P3 pre-orders, at the second one there were over 20.

I dunno man, say if you were doing a LAN or spilt screen, would you rather everyone have a keyboard and mouse? How the hell would you accomplish that within one room?

Although, there is a thing that makes PC games, shooters especially more awesome than consoles.
