It's funny because we all badmouth it but we all end up playing it at some point, and they could probably release one a year for 25 years and this would still be true.

If Treyarch is setting the pace, I'd say that pay-only dedicated servers are a pretty piss poor pace.

The last bit of life in the Call of Duty series has just been extinguished. Call of Duty was once a fine, fine series, but motion controls? Planning expensive DLC before the game has even been announced? Treyarch setting the pace? I'm afraid that's just not going to cut it.
Goodbye, old friend. I'll give you a viking funeral.

So blatantly copying the GunGame mod that's been around since the original Counter-Strike is innovating now, is it Activision? So is being proud of selling a bunch of small extra map packs immediately after the game launches for a ridiculously expensive amount?

Hmm, ok, sure...

According to Activision CEO Bobby Kotick, Treyarch's upcoming Cold War shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops is a roadmap to what the next five years worth of Call of Duty games will be like.
So we are going to get a bunch of rushed games to make a bunch of money by Activision now?

He also said that DLC was going to play a big part in the future of Call of Duty, and that Activision would be stepping up its release schedule for new content.
Want to know what I hear there? We are going to just port a bunch of maps that are from the old games that SHOULD BE FREE and sell them to you because you are idiots.

Really Activision? If CoD:BO does not have an amazing storyline you should seriously think about shutting your money fucking mouth.

Are you trying to start a flamewar?

I kid. I won't say that's the general consensus, but it is the feeling I get from the majority of the fanbase. Treyarch's fans (note, not necessarily fanboys) are more vocal, so it kind of balances out. Personally, I don't think they can top the original Modern Warfare, but I've only played 4 and the original (ported to the PS3 as "Classic) so what do I know?

I read the title and I thought, "Wow that's funny cuz the last 5 years of COD were a template for this game......"

It's so fucking pathetic Kotick already mentioned "DLC WILL BE PUMPED OUT". The game isn't even out yet or the future games but they talk about DLC?

If that doesn't raise red flags regarding "Incomplete game" then what does?
Not to mention said DLC will be locked on the disk and we'll have to pay to get it unlocked...fucking hate that shit. I shouldn't have paid for the shitty Versus mode in RE5, especially since it came on the disc already...grrr.

Whatever though, as long as the maps aren't as buggy as the first map pack for MW2, I'll still get DLC. Or at least I will once I get a job. And people still buy DLC even if it is overpriced and complained about...if they really didn't want it to be charged, they'd just boycott it completely. Or at least that's what I'd do.

Basically, though I don't feel like they're not as good. It was more that they were given an official sequel to work on that was supposed to follow CoD2 and because CoD2 was so great, CoD3 was supposed to be made to be even better, but it wasn't...it was too similar, QTE's aside. If Call of Duty 3 wasn't an official one, and was more like Big Red One, I think it would have been seen as fine. I mean they only had worked on Big Red One, and before that had done the Spiderman games, don't think it's right to give a company something that big for only their second WWII game, ESPECIALLY considering IW's record (remember, they made MoH: Frontline and Allied Assault, which were both amazing games). Eh maybe what I'm saying doesn't make sense, but to me it does.

I feel bad for Treyarch... They've come a long way since they started (World at War was pretty good in my eyes, but it was definitely riding on MW2's coat-tail). Too bad they work for Kotick.

In the meantime, I'll just buy The Vietnam expansion for Bad Company 2! :D
