Obviously not much info is known about the next Call of Duty game but I wanna know if you think I should pre-order it. It's supposed to be a sequel to World at War which is prob my fav CoD game but I just can't decide yet. (Also all you get from pre-ordering it is a double-sided poster and i'm just a bit tired of posters.)

Any thoughts?

I really see no point in pre-ordering, anything for that matter. Its gonna be in stock, you don't need to book, or pay in advance to insure that. By it when you are ready and if you want it. Not because you feel like you should pre-order it to get it straight away or to get a poster.

I know I don't need to, I just do for certain games. It's more of a personal quirk of mine than anything.

Agreed. I think pre ordering is a way to get us to commit to buying something from one store when we could just buy it anywhere we want. They all sell it for the same price anyways.

Wait for now - it comes out in November, that's plenty of time.

Hell, if you get it off of Steam you can "pre-order" it a few minutes before it's released.

It doesn't work like that in the UK.

We can pre-order from online stores and we are only charged when the item is shipped. So basically we get a copy reserved for free and it arrives on release date.

It's very handy if you don't live near a game store or they are charge more.

I'd wait for more information, but if you like all the information that has been released about the game so far and are fine with buying a game before the reviews are in, then get it.

If you want the game, then yes, pr-order, if you don't want to support people who disrespect the thousands who died for no reason in a hot jungle, thousands of miles from home, then don't pr-order.

Ah sometimes you get free stuff with it you wouldn't get otherwise (eg Bad Company 2 you got the map packs that came out later free if you pre ordered). Also my game store gives me £2 off a future purchase of my choice if I pre-order and pre-ordered games get home delivered to you before they even come out in stores which is kinda cool.

Even if there's no true freebies mentioned remember it IS Treyarch releasing it - they gave beta keys to anyone who pre-ordered WaW. So that could be a reason to

If you're gonna buy it anyway then go ahead - if it becomes popular they may sell out

I live and Ireland and the pr-ordered games and the regular stock games are both the same pile. The only game I ever pre-ordered was GTA4 and I saw absolutely no point in doing it ever again after that. But I can see how doing it online can be of use if you don't live near a game store. I have the privilege of 3, so can shop around, and they almost always have different prices.

I would but I haven't been on Steam for a while and when I PC game it's on a laptop which doesn't exactly hold well with next-gen graphics. Plus I play games on 360 more anyway, except games that need to be played on PC like DA:O (much easier to play for me.)

It's the same in Canada but the EBGames near where I live(I don't know if you have those over there and if you do they may or may not do this) have these midnight madness events for people who pre-order certain games, I remember they did it with Gears of War 2 and I pre-ordered it just cause I was extremely excited for it and getting it at midnight instead of after school that day was more than worth it for me.

Well my father once told me not to so my money can stay in the bank and earn interest. I personally won't pre-order because I have a feeling I will be moving real soon, but Beta's are about the only real reason to pre-order IMO.

Its your money, but I would say save it. Black Ops seems, at least to me, like a filler. A game they are releasing to get people who are crack addicts to modern warfare to pay sixty more dollars for a game that is pretty much the same thing. Plus, Infinity Ward and Trearch (misspelled, I know) are supposed to switch off every game. If Infinity Ward releases another, they probably just want more money. But, I might be wrong.
