Couldnt find a thread about this game so decided to make one.

Black Prophecy [http://www.blackprophecy.com/] is a sci-fi MMO much like Eve Online I guess, it does have several strong points to make it differ though.

Modular Ships: Every piece of equipment you strap onto your ship is visible, be it some huge misile launcher to some flashy lasers.
'Real' Controls: Unlike many other games, this title will be using a more direct aproach to the controls, so no point-click-wait gameplay here, only proper dogfighting in space
Free to play: The game is free to download and to play, you can use real money for XP Boosts and to pimp out your ships, so paying customers will have no 'edge' over non-paying

Also its make by ReaKKtor who made the rather unforgiving FPS MMORPG NeoCron 1+2, granted it tanked due to bugs and no publicity, but it was unique and one of the only games that truly got my heart speeding when things got a bit too hot.

The release date is set to sometime in November and the current speculations is that it'll go Open Beta in September

So, is this a game you'd try? Why? Why not?

I would be interested if it wasn't an MMO, as such it will be ruined by other people.

EDIT: On second thoughts, after looking at the screenshots, it looks quite good.

I shall be looking into this game, as long as the FTP element isn't like DDO's where you pretty much have trouble progressing past lv 4 unless you pay.

DDO got rid of that, actually. You can easily get from 1-20 without paying, now.

Especially since they give you Turbine Points for every 100 points of Favor. The you use them to get Adventure Packs.

You mean got rid of the tokens you needed to buy? True, but I still found it pretty hard after lv 4, not a large variety of dungeons to go through.

It's suspect to say the least.

But If this is genuine then you lost me at MMO.
