The only time I believe I blacked out for a bit was after I fell of a playground at the age of six. I landed on the back of my head (ouch). Got three stitches.

EDIT: And I almost blacked out in music class. When everything feels fuzzy and your vision is blurred, you know to stop playing your instrument and breathe.

I've blacked (or whited) out once before. It was from blood loss; i had just had my teeth pulled. It was cool.

I just barely blacked out from holding my breath because I didn't want to smell something in the kitchen, where I had to go. So I inhaled barely, got up, and right as I was getting back to the couch I just saw nothing but black and fell down. I woke up seconds later and was dumbfounded.

Excessive alcohol. Woke up the next day, on a couch that I'd never seen before, a massive headache, a throat that felt like somebody had strangled me and with a massive tear in my pants.

I fainted in school, once.
I'm not sure why. I was sitting at my desk, looking up towards the blackboard, and it just sort of happened.
On the plus side, by the time I came to, the teacher was practically wetting herself.
It was pretty hilarious.

EDIT: Oh, and also, I've passed out while I was ill a few times.
It's kind of a scary experience. You can barely think, you're sweating like crazy even though you're freezing your ass off, everything is all distorted and hard to see, and then suddenly you're on the floor.
The strange thing is that, for me, by the time I wake up, I usually feel absolutely fine.
Odd, huh.

What the hell had you been drinking, terpentine? Ive yet to black out from alcohol...i guess i havent been trying hard enough.
I don't think what he drank should be the concern, maybe the sore throat and the tear in his pants...

In the past 3 years I've blacked out about 5 times. A few due to alcohol, one due to a bad reaction to an injection, one sort of out of the blue. The one I remember the most is the time I got a shot and passed out. It was a hepatitis vaccination that we had to get in school, I got the shot and walked over to a table to sit and talk to some friends, then I started feeling extremely weak so I tried to walk back over the the nurse, but my vision faded into blackness and I fell on the ground. I woke up in what felt like a few seconds with tons of people staring at me, it was a weird day.

lol, oh grimm. You know i hadnt even noticed that, til now. Very good point...hmm

Also how the hell did you get put on probation already? Didnt you just get un-probated?
Eh, both of us were going off topic. Sort of unfair, considering a guy threatened to stab me in the throat for liking Halo and Half Life (at the same time), but I guess I shouldn't tell the mods how to do their jobs. Now stop this train of thought before things get worse.

And yes, waking up with a massive tear in your pants is not a good thing.

Lucky for me I play the drums :)
I did almost in band class also, but that was because I was standing for a long time, and had my legs locked. I started feeling woozy, and as soon as I moved my feet, the blood could flow and I was fine.

I once blacked out for a few minutes in a science class. We were watching some video as part of our anatomy studies with plenty of bloody accidents in it. Turns out I'm squeamish to that sorta stuff and I felt like crap for the next hour or so.

Nauesa: Not. Fun.

Yeah, it was really weird. Everything seemed really distant and far off. I took a breath, and I saw my music teacher starring at me. I kept on going like nothing had happened. Odd thing is, this had happened at least twice. I gave up on music class as soon as I could.

My passouts:

1) 5th grade. Tried to jump to 6th Monkey Bar having made the 5th. Bashed head on 4th bar, wrist on 5th, had to wear a cast for about a month. Vivid memory of the words "He's going into shock."

2) 7th grade. I have a swivel chair (well, "had" now, since it's back at home and I'm in a dorm) and would lie with my neck over the back looking at the screen. I compressed the wrong place once and blacked out after a few minutes of wondering what would happen if I kept pressing down.

3) 8th grade, 3 times, all while singing. Turns out if I lock my knees when going for really majestic notes, I pass out. They eventually moved me, so my job became "Guy with the great voice who has to turn the pianist's pages for her because of health and safety regulations." They were legitimately ticked off about having to move me.

4) 9th grade. I randomly tied a scarf around my neck very, very tightly, and when I felt the blood pooling in my face decided to walk to the bathroom to see how it looked in the mirror (DAMN I was stupid). I passed out about halfway there and banged my head on some tiles. I don't THINK I got concussed.

I think #4 happened when I was on a huge carb binge after eating nothing but meat for about a week (...don't ask), so I was basically a walking corpse when I decided to walk to the bathroom - that might explain why I decided to do something so stupid in the first place. Ye gods, that was stupid.

EDIT: I've also spontaneously dropped off in my chair after staying awake for 36 hours or so, but I don't know if it qualifies.

Excessive amounts of alcoholic beverages.

Only thing I remember was taking a shot of absinthe. Then another. On my third shot, I just looked at it then forgot everything else. I woke up in a bed with a buddy's sister. Who was visiting at our dorm. Also the taste of the absinthe in my mouth was there for a few days after. Scary stuff.

Also another black out of excessive blood lose. Apparently when you split the bottom of your heel bad enough you can lose enough blood to make you black out.

Alcohol for the loss, but who hasn't been there?

I've blacked out from a lack of sugar, or, as Wilford Brimley likes to call it, Diabeetus. I suppose the most "memorable" time was when I was sitting in a Village Inn after a rousing game of Groundies only to see my friends' faces shift into Picasso-esque figures. As reality began to subside and the surreal supplanted it, my consciousness faded and I awoke with mangled dreams running through my mind and an I.V. running out my arm with paramedics asking if I was "okay." No, no not really.

So, yeah, that sucked, but you learn who your friends when you black out at a Village Inn.

I'm pretty sure that last lesson can be learned even by those without "Diabeetus."

I did when I crashed my motorcycle after the brakes failed. I was more just confused at the time, but remembered what happened after wards. I had to go for a scan to check my back but luckily I didn't really do any damage at all, just scratches and bruises.

I'm going to try something different for mine, to paint you a first person view of the events that lead to my one of my two concussions.

Theatrically slow I ascend the steps of a aluminium 7 foot ladder, looking down concealing my concern whether the two wooden tables can take the poorly distributed weight, my hand makes it to the top as I raise my head and look around, the arena half full, is on it's feet adults and children alike, the noise is invigorating, with a second wind I make it up another rung, this time I take my hands off the ladder and raise my arms as I spin around for the crowd, I look across to my right and down, my friend, my opponent lying face up upon 4 all familiar wooden tables, 2 stacked upon 2, what the hell was I thinking, looking down I'm easily 13 feet up, he's to far away to just jump, but I'm up here now, the show must go on. I grab the ladder and with all my strength wrench it to my right without taking my eyes off my friend, before it falls completely over I make my leap of faith. My eyes transfixed on the center of my friends chest, my body rolls to the side, my legs spin before me, the crowd is deafening, everything slows down as my body finally gets into a diving elbow drop position. I collide with my friend back at high speed, the first layer of tables breaks, my body keeps moving forwards for a second, the second breaks, as my body spins the wrong way, the impact with the floor is unbearable, the mattes were missed, the back of my head bounces off the concrete, everything goes dark. I awake, seconds later, ringing in my ears, everything's blurry, and the image lags behind my movements, before I realise what's going on I'm pulled to my feet, the crowd once so deafening is muffled as though I'm underwater, my arm is raised up, but not by my own strength, I turn to look at a figure next to me, then my raised arm. It's released, it swings under my shoulder, the momentum is to much as it drops I follow it face first into the concrete once more.

Was a awesome wrestling spot, left the crowd in awe, but, the concussion was serious, on top of the my shoulder was dislocated and 3 of my ribs (under that shoulder) cracked, the concussion made a excellent pain killer though.
