BLACKLIGHT TANGO DOWN:

I ordered and downloaded Blacklight Tango Down on Steam. Initially after installing I tried to sign in with my windows live account. The program tried to update my windows live data. I got an error message, specifically, I got OX80072751. I looked around, and found out this is the error message you get when windows live hasn't been updated. So the game couldn't update windows live...because I hadn't updated windows live. Well, I went to one of microsoft's sites, directly downloaded the current version of live, and that solved that problem. But then, when I opened the game again, and tried to log into my windows live account, again, I got another error message. This time I got OX80151911. I went to a website, specifically I went to http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/t/785.aspx

I took his advice, ran the suggested command line in command prompt as administrator, and it still didn't work. To my knowledge I literally cannot play this game no matter how hard I try. The game will *not* access window lives servers no matter what I do. I can however access my windows live account outside of this game. I have also done a full system scan with Avira anti-virus premium security suite, and found no malware. Hence, the problem is apparently not with my computer. I have deleted and reinstalled the program several times. I have deleted and reinstalled games for windows live. The game still does not work.

I sent a request for a refund to Steam, they told me to contact the publisher. I tried sending a contact email to Ignition (the publisher) but I could not, because my email provider told me that their email address "does not like recipient", and then it told me that "user is unknown in relay recipient table." I have tried repeatedly calling them on the phone, but I repeatedely get an "after hours" message box, even when I call during bussiness hours and it isn't lunch time. So I cannot even contact them to get a refund.

LEAD AND GOLD:

As for Lead and Gold: It works perfectly. However, I cannot find anyone to play with. Every server that actually has people on it has such high ping for me that I cannot play. Let me put this in perspective: I am about 2 hours drive (assuming you don't get a traffic jam) from Los Angeles. I live in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the Country. And I cannot find any servers nearby with people on them. The vast majority of servers are at zero.

I have come to two conclusions:

1. I hate games for windows live.

2. Multiplayer oriented games by small developers with poor advertising are automatically crap, simply because you will not be able to find anyone to game with the majority of the time.

Anybody got any helpful advice?

For Blacklight Tango Down, you could try verifying integrity of game cache. If that doesn't work you could try redownloading the game.

For Lead and Gold, yeah low population is a problem for most indie multiplayer games. It's a shame because Lead and Gold is an excellent game. I wanted to buy it based on the free weekend but was afraid I'd be in the same situation you are in now. You might still have a chance though. The server browser in LnG is pretty terrible. Try refreshing the browser several times and you might get lucky and have a good server pop up. You could also try finding a match at different times during the day.

I have tried deleting and redownloading blacklight Tango down several times. How do I verify the integrity of the cache? At this point it is my only hope, unless microsoft fixes somethign on their end.

Right click on the game and click on the properties option. Then click on the Local Files tab and choose verify integrity of game cache.

If redownloading didn't work I doubt this will. All it does is check to see if any of the game's files messed up and downloads any files that needed fixing. It can't hurt to try though it's pretty quick.
