Well I found this game recently and I thought it was pretty cool. It's being developed by Hyung Tae-Kim (Art Director) and NCSoft. An MMORPG obviously, I think it's a really impressive looking game that could be a lot of fun. I've heard that there's probably a plan for an international release after it's released in Korea. I suppose I'm curious what everyone thinks, but on a more expansive note, what do you think of the international MMO community in general? I've begun to think there's more out there than WoW, and I've been having fun for a long time experimenting, for a while at least, with a variety of games in many different fronts (my last foray was with Cabal Online).

Oh yeah, please note that all of the stuff in the videos is actually in-game footage. :)

Woo. Another Korean MMO, that's all we need. Frankly I couldn't possibly care any less.

Tell me isn't there already a Japanese based fantasy mmorpg. It looks pretty and fast paced but so did Warhammer and AoC and how did those turn out?Plus seeing Japanese women dressed like cats going to war it propally won't earn it much respect from the community. They fighting looks bad ass but from the looks of it I'm sure it will be a lag-fest.
(and seeing a young Japanese woman's thong 20 freakin times will surely make me focus on the battle.)
Well, infamy is a type of fame as well. As for Japanese women... well, they're not.

Has some nice graphics and monster design, but gonna be laggy as WoW on dial-up, imho. And it also looks like the main selling point is going to be over all OP of the player compared to non instance NPCs (1 guy takes on 10 mobs at the same time) and pantie shots at every attack.
Well, the game isn't scheduled to be released for another year, possibly two. So things could change a lot in that time span. Still, I agree that it looks cool. Execution is always the question though. A game's only as good as the fun it provides for most people. :)

As for lag, well I can't really say. I don't think it will lag unless you're talking about computer lag (i.e. really high requirements to run at 30 frames). Which might be a realistic complaint, but if you're talking computer->server lag, I don't really feel that will be a problem. NCSoft is pretty good about that sort of stuff.

It's a good looking game, but Korean + MMORPG are two things that don't go well together.

Nope, they sure don't. Point and Click MMO's are the bottom of the barrel for an already wilted genre.

Hahahaha. It's a Korean MMO. It's going to be grindtastic.

The trailer video revealed that the game will have a cinematic combat system, and the ability to let the players to cook his/her own potion. A flying system called QingGong, also referred as "swift jump" is available.
If that's the best they can come up with, expect to play a worse version of the games you already bored of.

I liked Cabal Online, it's a pity they screwed up the combo system by shutting it down when you're using your battle forms.

Supposedly there's a combo system in this game as well, and I've heard rumors of being able to fight while flying or in mid-air. It's also supposed to be very single-player focused, which is... kinda odd since all the other big Korean games are about downing the big boss. Supposedly (according to the interview with the game's director) it's supposed to be about PvP and individual achievements. I guess we'll see what that means as the game progresses and a beta gets tossed out.

Only in Battle Mode 2... You can use combo while in Aura at level 100, Battle Mode 1 at level 110. If I recall correctly. Cabal is a big game here, too bad its management sucked arse. Can't even control the sudden OBVIOUS influx of cheaters.

And Cabal is a game which actually kept the grind to a minimum (for a Korean MMO, anyways). All end-game gear can be acquired quite easily. Unless you want to craft your own equipments. THAT involves grinding, buying and sellng, and a LOT of luck.

yea - i play cabal - it has an eu version :) its quite a good game overall but, although leveling isnt especially grindy, the skill system is. like 300 skills = 1 skill level out of 150 skill levels. this is in the later game though. unfortunately, the only way to be good in this game is to grind you're skills up.
