Erm... I have no idea what you're talking about. PvX and GW mean nothing to me - could you make it slightly clearer for us norms?

Pvx Wiki is a website that hosts a huge amount of user-created character builds for the game guild wars. This allows the community to share and test various builds and skill combinations. However, it has the unfortunate side-effect of almost everyone in the game using the exact same builds.

Supreme Unleaded said:
waht the hell are you saying, your endless stream of abreviations that no one has heard of is killing me.
GW= Guild Wars, an MMORPG
PvX Wiki= player vs X wiki, a wiki for help on the strategy of GW
PvP= player vs player, a gameplay mode where you fight other players instead of the computer
no one= no one, the people that are your friends :p
lol= laugh out loud, laughing
Ok, I think that covers it...

*I* play guildwars!

*Ahem*

No, I dont think it takes away from the challenge and appeal of the game, I actually once made a few builds for characters and teams that won me 100 consecutives in Team PvP, It only sucked that I couldnt post my build on the site due to my innability to use the wiki editing tools. Now that I no-longer have the original gear and skill templates, I've lost the originals, and Arenanet's constant overmanaging has sort of quashed my attempts at remakes (that and I am currently not playing anything on my PC)

But yeah, I think there is nothing wrong with learning from what Other people know. I think that is the same reason people use forums for particular games.

*EDIT*

Also, whatever happened to -"If I know nothing about the topic... I keep my mouth shut?"

Its that simple, really... Has ignorance become a base for bashing something? Scratch that... of course it is.... >_>

I'm sorry, I'm probably being a bit too mean right now...

Still don't see the point of it, but I guess if people don't want skill involved and prefer grind games, then I can't judge them on it.
