I was playing around with DOSbox (DOS Emulator, for people that don't know, google it) and i had some fun playing the original DOOM95. Here it is, 16 years after that game came out, and i just now realized it has multiplayer coop in it. I was thinking , "Sweet, this will make for some fun LAN parties later." Then I did some digging around on the internet, only to find that the original version 1.0 of DOOM95 supported a triple monitor setup where you can watch your peripherals (using two other computers over LAN) That just blew my mind, and i had to try it myself. I couldn't find any pictures or documentation about it anywhere but 1 sentence on Wikipedia. After 3-4 hours of digging around on the internet, i found a copy of unpatched DOOM. Needless to say, that was a fun night. The peripheral vision isn't perfect, but remember this was 1993. (Some of you may not think this is that amazing, but almost pooped my pants when i got it to work)

Regardless of whatever anyone else says, that's frigging genius. I have no idea why any of the devs thought that the game might need three monitors to play, but it's still genius.

I'm more blown away by the fact that you actually use 3 monitors, one is enough for me, hah

A game that old allowed a triple monitor setup? Surely back then there were even less people with 3 monitors than there are now?

Very cool indeed! Didn't the Tie Fighter/X-Wing games have that function as well?

My wife uses two monitors (one for WoW running in a window sized to fit the widescreen and one old 4:3 monitor for surfing the web while playing WoW because she has a squirrel-like attention span). But three? That's just badass.
