Heya guys I am craving a fighting game and keep picking up Street Fighter IV in the stores and putting it back down because i've bought and played that game to death from the Sega Genesis and Arcades onward.

A new BlazBlue game should be coming out this week and I was wondering if anyone has experience with the series in how controls and crap like that work. I despise Mortal Combats overly complex moves and cant tell how BlazBlues are, I guess its why I favored SFs sweeping moves instead of Mortal Combats tap left tap down tap down tap up then hit B moves.

While not a total Anime fan and all that the look of BlazBlue seems totally amazing from all the clips I see online of it. Appreciate any infos

I'm a fighting game noob and I had a blast with Calamity Trigger. Move commands aren't that difficult, it's usually a direction and a button press. It's a "Easy to Learn, Hard to Master" system. With the new character balancing in CS it should be a blast.

BlazBlue is "sweepy" as well (A top tier maneuver would be like two half circle sweeps backwards plus Drive) so you should enjoy it

Blazblue plays a lot like street fighter and most other conventional 2D fighters. It uses half circles, quarter circles, 623s (uppercut command), and is a 4 button fighter; meaning there is basically punch, kick, slash, and the drive (special) button.

If you have ever played Guilty Gear you will feel right at home with this game as is plays pretty much the same. It's a very simplistic fighter but plenty of depth and relies less on overly complex commands and is more about just playing.

It's a pretty fun fighter and I love it to bits. Hell I find it far superior to Street Fighter, but I then again I hold Guilty Gear as the best 2D fighter ever so BB doesn't come as any surprise in being 2nd best.

Blah, Lambda-11 (formerly known as Nu-13) is still as annoying as ever, just less powerful from what I've experienced; and she can't spam gravity well anymore, has to let it charge. Glad Hakumen is still a beast but why did they switch his 236 to 214!?

Forget about that, where's my PC version?
Damn right, I'd by an arcade stick in an instant if they made a PC version. You can download the leaked arcade version though, and apparently CT came out on the PC.....in Europe...

Continuum Shift is being released soon!? DOOD YES.

Blazblue is one of the few fighting games I've enjoyed, if only because its concentrated cast is developed to the extent that they feel unique (and that I found a character I actually like to play as). Like other's have said, it follows the mantra of being easy to pick up, play, and have a good time, but complex enough to allow for a surprising amount of depth.

But... yeah. Must... find... Continuum Shift... NAO...

Controls on BlazBlue are really well done, as is the whole game for that matter. That said, I would actually suggest starting with Calamity Trigger. The game has an incredibly good plot (if somewhat hampered by the style of its presentation). I'm not sure if Continuum Shift's plot is something you'll be able to just jump into, or if you should experience the BlazBlue plot first, but, either way it's a really interesting story, and it'd be a shame to miss out on. Plus, it'd be cheaper to buy Calamity Trigger, and wait for the price on Continuum Shift to go down while you're still playing Calamity Trigger.

Why is there a 3 month gap between the American and European release dates for Continuum Shift? I might just see if I can get Calamity Trigger on the cheap.

I just got CS a couple weeks ago and I love it. It gives you alot of verity between all the different characters. You have the general controls just like in any fighter but each characters Drive gives all of them a completely different vibe. With the DLC they will be releasing there's going to be around 17 characters in all (assuming that they dont keep updating the roster with more DLC). It's a very stylish fighter and the sprits look amazing. I've played both BlazBlue Continuum Shift and Super Street Fighter IV and I thought BlazBlue was miles better.
