Blind typing, eh? Okay, whole post, blind mode. Let's see...

Quite frankly, I think that typing, for me at least, has become an exercise in futility, largely because of so much typoing class and experience. I still make mistakes, but at this point, typing out and answering these posts have become almost a form of showing off,f. Which I'm not usually okay with.

Ah well, I suppose it's unavoidable. I think that blind typing is a good Geigar Counter for one's typing ability. It does show how well you know your keyboard layout, either by sbconscious or conscious memory. But ultimately, it doesn't really matter, because people can be happy at any stage of the "proper" yping technique. So really, it's more about what you like, how you type, and what works best for you. Ah well, I think I'm rambling...

Overall, I do think that I'm fairly good at blind typing. So, Escapists, how did I do?

Hi I'm typing right now without looking at the keyboard. I find that my eyes seem to gravitate towards the keyboard, so I'm trying my best here.

I have been doing office and temping work for eleven years now, so that's probably why I can do it so well. I haven't found any other typists who can blind/touch type but can't remember where any of the keys are. I guess it's subconscious now.
Impressive, I've always had trouble typing on laptops as well.
The hardest bit is not setting off that buggering bugger the touchpad...

Blind typing is more to refer to whether you are looking at the keyboard or not. I'll have to be fair, it's not actually called blind typing, and as you made up the term, you can define it as you see fit.

But suggesting that you are just not looking at the screen when transcribing does not really impress. It's a pretty standard feat. In fact, the typos for such a small amount of text suggest your typing skills need some work.

I would encourage more people to do that typo gag though, I don't think we've seen it quite enough on this thread.

I always blind type, it is just habit from touchtyping (spent several years in a laptop focused class at highschool). It makes little difference if my eyes are closed (like now) or if I'm looking at the screen. I's just habit, use the indents on the j and f keys to help line your hands up, then you're off. It's really just practice.

Get typing of the dead, that really helps with blind typing, you know... when monsters are chewing on your ass unless you type fast...

The previous text was typed with eyes closed.

You're referring to the yathzee review of fable 2. But it's not 100% right... It's supposed to be: Oh look he's a doggy, mash up his little face and call him chips.

I think I have earned 2 cookies now?
