Obviously, if you're one of the vocal minority who loudly despises Diablo III for whatever reason, then this short-term generosity likely doesn't do much for you.Sorry. If it helps, you've only got to deal with the game's birthday celebrations for another week or so, and then you can go back to ignoring and/or railing against the title.
Have been attempting to give a damn about Blizzard's "flagship" dungeon crawl title for years. Still attempting to give a damn.

It will still take a million years for anyone to drop useful items whatsoever, thus the game lost its charm pretty quick.

OH BOY ANOTHER DIABLO 3 NEWS PIECE

I am so excited to read all these comments.

What's that? Objectively bad game design? Poor implementation of the Auction House? Nothing like the predecessor? Jay Wilson killed your pet goldfish and fed it to a starving raccoon? Chris Metzen personally went up to your door and slapped your sick and elderly grandma before saying "BATTLE CRUISER OPERATIONAL, HOTSAUCE."

Thrilled.

OT: Cool. I'll probably log on to level my HC character on MP10 with this to get some serious cash, yo. Not... Actual cash. I am not providing alternative methods of gold trading
I DON'T SELL ITEMS

DON'T BAN ME.
My thoughts exactly. But don't forget thinly veiled passive aggressive potshots. It was only through morbid curiosity that I decided to click on this thread to begin with. Though I feel a little bad for you, since if people start reading past the opening post they'll probably start going off on you. :D

OT: I saw that when I logged in earlier today. Pretty neat surprise. I'll probably try to get the last six levels on my hardcore Wizard while it lasts.

Alternatively "Blizzard Decides To Do More MMORPG Things With Their Completely 100% Non-MMORPG Product Diablo III"

Sir. I take offense, you have misquoted many people there.

Your message should read:
Jay "Fuck That Loser" Wilson killed your pet zergling and fed it to a starving ursadon?

I really do not understand why people complained about the story being terrible in this game. I'm not saying its not, I just don't understand why it was such a crucial aspect of the game for you to be able to enjoy it. What exactly are you doing in the game? Are you even playing it? You know, figuring out interesting builds and gear setups to do different things?

The Diablo series has always been about killing hordes of monsters, getting loot and trading, something it manages to do well. That's it. Do you complain about Mario having a crap story? What about Quake 3: Arena? Tetris? Any illusionary narrative or gameplay expectations you were expecting the game to have are purely your own and if you set yourself up to be dissapointed, then that's your own fault.

I swear this generation of gamers are so spoilt and feel so entitled to things that don't exist that its just sickening to hear about their complaints. Don't get me wrong, the game definitely has problems. However it is nowhere near as 'terrible' as the vocal minority keeps saying it is.

Now then, I will personally enjoy this temporary buff and level my MP10 Hota+Rend Barb to Paragon 100 while keyfarming, possibly followed by a few Uber runs with a Calamity+MFD DH, double whirlwind barb and Conviction spam Monk. Hopefully get a good Hellfire ring out of it too. All the while totally IGNORING the 'story' which impacts the game so SEVERELY!!!

Didn't understand that last paragraph? That's because you actually didn't PLAY the game.
I just beat normal for the first time about a month ago, the story was awful but it enhanced my experience of the game! I came in with little expectations to meet but as the story got so bad, it became entertaining to see just how bad it could get. I was in tears by the time hell's master strategist starts reading you all his armies live updates via holo-skype.

Story gives context to why you're doing what you're doing in a game and I appreciate having that there, for the first run anyway. I find it boring to grind for the sole purpose of getting the next loot tier.

I swear this generation of gamers are so spoilt and feel so entitled to things that don't exist that its just sickening to hear about their complaints.

You played it for different reasons than I did and therefore your methods of play are more valid than mine? What the hell!?

I enjoyed the first Diablo's story of a fucked over town, was I not supposed to? Why am I wrong for wanting to get similar enjoyment from the stories of the sequels?

Also, you can skip the stories of a lot of RPGs while still having a strong understanding of the combat, I don't see what your point was there.

I still didn't get over the fact that your first run will have difficulty set for angry birds hardcore players and that the story doesn't change at all (nor do you get any additional bits of lore except maybe few unrelated totally not looking alike random dungeons). I'm just not that big into grinding. If I wanted to grind I'd renew my WoW subscription or something.

The biggest problem for me is that the game didn't have the scary atmosphere of its predecessors but we knew that since the early footage so uhhh... I don't know. Was almost fun to grind with friends for awhile (before you realized that solo is / or was at the time so much easier).

I intend to quadruple my play time because of this!!! I will spend so much on the auction house that it will save poor Bli$$ard from having to say this game was poorly planned!!!!

So if I buy and play it now my experience will be ruined by the altered balance?
Nope, it means you 'll actually get to see what the game would be like if it wasn't balanced around requiring the Auction House.
Fascinating. They're temporarily fixing a broken game rather than temporarily breaking something that was fine. It's like the opposite of a preorder bonus!

Pathetic, but I suppose in this day and age things need to be made dumbed-down and accessible for the "This game must be P2W because I can't beat it with my awesome tactic of 'MOAR POTIONS' and I can never do anything wrong." crowd, even if only temporarily.
