you know what would be great? if you had to have played at least 10 games or reached level 20 or whatever depending on the game before you could post on a forum. that would at least force trolls to spend a couple hours grinding before they could troll anonymously

how would that work for the RTS games? set number of games? set number of wins? if it's just games then i wouldn't doubt someone would create a program that simply opens a match closes it and repeats. then again that's similar to saying a person will bot to a certain level, but it's slightly different. hmm....just pondering a bit on your idea

And why couldn't people make up a name? Did they have to have proof of ID to play?
Because if you get hacked, forget your password, have any other issue with your account you wont get a response from tech service till you send em a scan of your ID alongside the scans of your cd-keys and contract signed with your blood. Well maybe not the contract, but they tend to ask for proof that you are you and not someone else.
I had to go through such hassle when i wanted to go back to WoW after a break between vanilla and TBC and forgot password, sadly meantime my e-mail account i used for sign up was deleted due to not being used for over a year, so i couldn't just use the password reminder function.

i suppose that would require tweaking, anything from a certain number of complete games to a certain number of wins to a certain average score... obviously you wouldnt want to accidentally punish a bad player by preventing them from posting on forums (or would you? see 90% of the Reach beta feedback) but forcing trolls to use an account that has games on it makes it more difficult to troll at least
