2 years ago, this footage was put on youtube, shown of a north Carolina sewer containing blob like cysts or membranes
The most common explanation I have seen is that of Tubifex worms, they are known to culmp together in masses.
However, upon looking at dozens of footage of Tubifex worms, they look nothing alike.
In those videos, the worms were clearly distincete, in these, in this, you can clearly see the texture of the blob is one individual.
Thoughts?

I did some more searching, and found that the things clump toghter and form a protective mucus cover over themselves when they are out of water, as shown here:
Kinda like the hunter's from Halo.

We have a winner!manaman said:The blob only looks like it's one semi solid mass because the worms are not in their natural habitat, there are videos online (on youtube even, that are linked from several of these videos of these blobs) that show the worms out of the water reacting and looking exactly like those blobs.
