I used to work in a Blockbuster store and I'm surprised they've made it this long. To those suggesting that they update and do things such as USB kiosks, you obviously have little idea of their user base - the vast majority of BB customers are older, non-tech savvy (and often stupid and lazy*). The staff are also lazy and many of them know surprisingly little about film or even possess basic common sense. The only reason the stores still survive is because they are cheap to run and the snack foods are profitable.

*Examples of this: Frequently returning rentals to not only a different store but a completely different chain, getting ripped of on prices, asking where the newest release is when two entire display stands are filled with nothing but that film directly in front of them, getting pennies for trading in stuff that isn't worthless, racking up more in late fees than it would cost to buy multiple copies of the film. I could go on and on, this was the run of the mill idiocy you got every day, then there were the flat out crazies like the guy who ran in one time and pissed all over the children's section.

It's about time Blockbuster did this, but I only have to think to myself how they are only just following along as usual. That is a good rate for game rentals, however, and that may just be what they need to finally break their financial funk.

Wow, that's not that bad... if only Netflix started doing this.
I agree with that, but games or no, I plan to stick with Netflix. If Blockbuster finally presents some real competition in the mail-service market it will only be a win for me.

Hopefully its better then Gamefly, I had terrible experiences with them. The games took weeks to ship, I was lucky if I got 2 games sent to me in a month.
I know, its god damn terrible.

I'll wait a bit before I cancel my Gamefly, just check and make sure its up to par with Gamefly.

Which shouldn't be hard in the slightest.

Wow, I had a totally different experience with them. I usually got a new game in a couple of days and had the 2 game plan for 25 bucks a month, so I could basically keep games for three months without "losing money". Also, since I was a member for a while, I got huge discounts on game purchases. I got Call of Duty World at War for 35 bucks the week after it came out using a combination of discounts and coupons. Do you guys live in big cities? I live in Seattle and it just might be easier to ship there or something.

OT: A Blockbuster a couple blocks from my house closed about 6 months ago. Looks like their really strapping down and trying to get in the black.
I live in a small town in Virginia, so that's probably why its so bad.

Blockbuster never has the games I want. I doubt this will change that.

I'll stick with GameFly, thanks.
