I tried to book in to donate blood when the red cross sent a 'mobile to my uni, but they were booked out. I will get in eventually.

I tried to once. I was too skinny and passed out within ten minutes.
Still am too skinny, otherwise I'd give blood regularly.

Never gave blood before. I hate needles.

And I'm a hemophiliac, so my blood's no good for transfusions...

I've given blood around 3-4 times before, and may even possibly give some tomorrow. Physically, I actually feel no different after than I did before, unlike most people, I guess. It does make me feel good to contribute, though (and the free snacks are a bonus).

Funny, semi-related story: My friend that I used to work with and I went to donate blood during our lunch break one time. We ended up being gone for about 2 hours during what was supposed to be a half-hour lunch break. When we got back, our asshole boss yelled at us. But we made him feel guilty when we told him why we were gone so long, and were let off the hook.

I give blood frequently. I got the gold card and everything. I try to do apheresis because it's apparently better than whole blood, and you don't have to donate as frequently.

I don't agree with your decision to further feed the blood drinking habits of the vampire populous good sir, but I shall defend to the death your right to keep those pansy sparkly vampires alive for another day.

(actually the idea of being drained like a cactus just freaks me out, but if push came to shove I'd be more than happy to donate blood to save someone...except maybe Hitler's clone...)

I want to give blood, but I'm not allowed because it's been less than 12 months since my last joint. Oh well, I can have my perfectly valid universal donor blood for myself.

I tried to donate blood once but my blood was rejected as a result of one of the questions on the survey. I'm probably eligible now, though.

Anyway, the only time I've had a bad reaction to having blood taken was when I was really sick and being tested for what the cause of that illness was. When the blood was drawn, I felt it all drain from my face, my ears went almost totally deaf and I got tunnel vision, and I had to lie down afterwards. I felt really faint. As I said, that was likely because I was already sick at the time, hence the bad reaction.

I have never given blood. First off is my total aversion to needles. You couldn't pay me enough to stick a needle in my body, let alone leave it there for ahalf hour as I bleed out into a bucket. Secondly, it's my blood >.> Pety maybe, but damnit, it's my blood, and I'm using it. I don't care that I'll grow more, I'll grow more because I have to repace the ones I already have, so no, you don't get none of my blood.

I've never donated blood, because I wasn't 18. Now that I am, I'm giving blood next week at the upcoming blood drive.

Needles don't bother me, for a couple years I got 4 shots a week, 2 in each arm, twice a week. I used to not like needles, now I don't even care about them.

I haven't had the chance to do so, but I will. Don't have a problem with donating blood. Sure needles may bother me a bit, but if my blood can help someone it's definitely worth it.

I can't give blood, unfortunately. Its useless to anyone but me. On the other hand if I could I would, I mean its a renewable resource, doesn't hurt me in the long run and helps so many people out.

Nope I wouldn't mind doing it I've just always assumed I would be rejected for being too fat. I have good cholesterol but they don't know that.

Not for me. I don't like medical stuff, needles, or getting touched by people. Getting blood drawn is a big no no for me.

I can't donate blood because I lived in the UK during the "Mad Cow" scares. I would if I could.

but pump in sieline (or however its spelled. Its prounounced Say-lean, though not spelled like that).
Saline or 0.9% NaCl. I've always heard it pronounced "Say-line", but I guess it varies by state, country etc.
