I cannot find a decently priced Wii anywhere.

Anywhere.

£240 GBP for a console, remote, nunchuk, wii sports and three games. Is that a decent deal or not?

That would depend on the quality of the games... Three Wii games would normally set you back around £120, so the bundle you describe saves you £60. I think that's pretty good unless the packaged games are Open Season, Avatar and Transformers: The Game (or some other combination of mundane licenses). At any rate, you can always trade those games in and buy something better. You'd still be laughing at the folks on eBay....

I don't know about GT Pro Series, but BBA costs about $20-$30 (£10-£15) and you are therefore spending $30 (£15) more than necessary. Also, Red Steel is supposed to be crapalicious, so I would definitely not recommend this bundle, unless you absolutely need a Wii.

Also, let's see--- £240 GBP=$475 USD. Add it all up in USD:

Wii with Wiimote, Nunchuck, Wii Sports: $250
Red Steel: $50
BBA: $20
GT Pro: $50
Accessories Bundle: $30 to $35

Total: $400-$405 USD, or £200-£204 GBP.

So, essentially, you are paying an extra £36-£40 GBP. Not worth it in my opinion, especially since BBA is not really a game ("brain-training") and Red Steel is crap.

EDIT: I forgot, there's always the possibility of turning around and trading those games in right after you buy them. That would make this bundle more or less decent, except for the price discrepancy as mentioned above.

What you say above immediately turns this into a shitty deal. DON'T BUY IT, THREAD STARTER.

P.S. Holy crap, that puts my calculations way off. It also means that the bundle sucks.

You're acting very surprised that you're finding it hard to get a Wii right after christmas. For starters, it's been out for a year and if you wanted one THAT badly there were hundreds in the stores during the summer, also it's the most wanted christmas gift this year and last. (PS3 still being just that little bit too expensive for the average family) On TV, talkshow hosts that were doing Toy's for Christmas specials, were stopping half way through to say "And Santa's told me, that he's been very busy getting Nintendo Wii's, and he may not have enough to go around. SO boys girls, don't be upset if he hasn't go you one yet." This was to take pressure off parents I assume... or he was really talking to santa. But the point is, you could've gotten one earlier in the year and if you're really desperate, buy one off ebay that's coming from Germany, or some other European country. And if you're even more desperate than that, you could always hijack a truck with the next shipment of Wii's to your local game store. (True story- Happened in N. Ireland around Nov) If you can't find anything decent on Ebay, you can always wait for spring when more consoles generally tend to appear in shops.

Also, £180 is a fucking bargain compared £425 for a PS3 upon it's release and £250 Xbox 360. And don't get angry at Nintendo because they're finding it hard to meet demands, if anything you should be thanking them for making a console that you want so badly.

I found a PS3 for £300 for the console, 2 games and controller.
I found a Wii for £180 for the console + £45 for Nunchuck and Remote + Whatever for two games, say £60...

Not too bad of a difference...

But yeah I've only just recently gotten hold of a job and money. I couldn't get a job during the summer due to stupid laws on age. Right now eBay is looking like my only option because out of 7 shops I've been to about 7 of them are out of stock...

Yes, I am really desperate for a Wii... Damn its awesomeness...

I appreciate Nintendo, but I'm annoyed by this so I have to vent... =D

And for some bizarre reason I'm craving to play Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but my GameCube, may he rest in piece, lies dead in my wardrobe covered in magazines and crap...

That game was awesome...

Retro =D

If you want a Wii sometime soon then you've left it a bit late. Just watch Game and Gamestation's windows like a hawk waiting for those 'Now in Stock' banners to go in the window. Keep the money in the wallet and at the first sign of a Wii get in there.

Another good idea will be to keep asking at any independant stores you have around, while they may sell the basic bundle for more than the £180 RRP (one indie here was selling it for £250) they're less likely to be pounced upon by a casual gamer or parent. If you're patient and keep at it you'll get it eventually. My sister trawled around town for 3 hours in September searching for a Wii, a few weeks later I walked into a store and bought one right away. Just don't get so desperate that you go in for a bundle of suck, remember you can often find Wii games dirt cheap. My favourite shop in town sells new Wii games for £30, that's the joy of the system.
