I've got a question for RPG fans out there who actually finished this title...

Knowing the characters are pointless and annoying
Knowing that I liked the Turn Based Battles
Knowing that I love Akira Toriyama's monster design
Assuming I can survive the aweful battle music
Assuming I can take the very inane beginning that I didn't get passed the first time

Is Blue Dragon worth rebuying at it's currently low price?
Is it worth finishing?

EDIT: Right now I'm leaning towards yes.

I enjoyed it.

Despite Marumaro. Who needs a mute button. Or possibly shooting.

It's really reliant on you getting on with the battle and levelling system though, get your hands mucky with the skill system and it all starts to fall together.

The plot's mostly ignorable fluff, but Nene is a fun villain (especially with Norio Wakamoto doing his voice, no scenery is left unchewed), and it's got a decent amount of content for your money.

I am hoping that since, this time around, I won't have the crushing disapointment of expectation, I will enjoy it more. Mostly it's because I just love turn based combat and I really can't get enough of those Toriyama character designs.

I am a massive jrpg fag and I hated this game. I bought it before i even had a 360, played it for 8 hours and realized I had wasted 8 hours of my life playing the slowest, most tediously boring rpg I've ever played before. Its like Dragonquest 8 but WITHOUT THE FUN.

I had the same thing happen to me on my first go really and, as everyone knows, I'm a very vocal defender of JRPG's and Turn Based Combat, I played it and just couldn't continue on.

I'm hoping time will have tempered my hatred though, I've been looking at some of the monster art and I really want to see some of these things in action.
