I was one of the lucky people to obtain for myself a Blur beta key from the Escapist, and I decided to make a thread for other people to express their opinions about it.
In my opinion, it's going to be a pretty kick-ass racing game. My only concern about it is the Shunt move (the red one that fires out from you and tracks the person in front of you), if you don't have a Shield powerup, or there's no corners for you to turn, the guy behind you can very quickly steal your prized first place. If you are in first place, you will have so many Shunts, Shocks and whatnot fired at you that you won't stay there for long. This could seem irritating, but it's just the game's style. It makes it show actual driving skill to get first place and keep it, and it certainly is exhilarating to be neck and neck with another driver then blast them out of the way before the finish. It seems like these more fun-focused racing games could really help make racers fun again (Sure, the Forza series is great to play, but it focuses on realism). The way they designed the menus and everything is really arcadey and it's hard to get annoyed at losing, even if you end up last, it's still fun to play the game.
