Alright, at school on friday we all had to be evacuated because some year 8's had threatened on facebook that they were going to blow up the school, it was absolutly ridiculous, however i can understand why they did take it seriously. i was just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation, one where people have had to take a situation seriously even though it is really absurd

Apparently there are situations on the internet where you actually have to be serious about it.

Sounds crazy, I know!

At our highschool a student stole some guns from a nearby house and brought them to school. When the police found out they began to search the school. To try and drive the police out so that he could get the guns and leave, the guy called in a bomb threat.
Turns out teh guns weren't loaded, probably becasue they weren't even real.
That's what you call digging yourself a REALLY deep hole.

I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Bomb scares are common place at the moment id rather them blow something up than just stall traffic and close whole areas down.

My friends brother was involved in a food fight, just a normal food fight in school. He threw the closest thing to hand which was a banana and it hit a Black guy completely by accident.

He still got done for racism...

We had a guy to planted a fake bomb in Aberdeen city centre to get out of a court hearing...

He was given an extra 3 years to his original sentence for being a douche

The only thing that's happened like that 'round my area was when my school got evacuated because someone found an unexploded WWII bomb in the park (which is exactly opposite to the school). Turns out it was a dud bomb, which is why it had never gone off. No one really cared though, as we got a day off school for it.
[sub]I know its not the same as a bomb threat, but kinda similar.[/sub]

I think I've typed this story out on here before but I'll say it again cos it fits with the theme of the thread.

Alright, so last year it was the Prefect assembly, where kids who wanted to be Prefect the next year gave a speech in front of the school saying why we should vote for them. One kid was away sick and his friend said that he would give his speech instead. But then this kid said that he was giving his own speech despite the fact that the teachers never said he could. So he gets sent to the office and later in the day police at the school and rumours start flying all over the place. Apparently this kid is a neo-nazi and had a speech saying he was going to kill everyone in the school or something. I'm sure most of it is a complete load of shit but eh, it was interesting at the time.

For an entire week at my school back in March there was a bomb scare: The school was tipped that there was gonna be a bomb attack, then a few days later, they found a detailed map of the school printed from a school printer. They didn't evacuate the school (The most they did was have a few code oranges, did a cavity search of the school finding drugs, and sending a letter about the incident home), but there never was an attack at our school. If there was an attack on our school though, I would not return to that school for a whole year.

There was apperantly a bomb threat when I was away, and when I came back everybody was extreamly paranoid.

But other then that nothing.

Oh yeah, when i was in high school, bomb threats happened often. I don't think anyone was scared though. Not me at least. What i was scared of, is running into bullies in the field where we evacuated.

Coincidence? I think not...

Yeah my school has had it's fair share of bomb scares, but only in clumps. The whole time I attended, we had about 12, but only over the course of a whole 3 weeks.
