Remember when people were complaining that the modern warfare games were starting to look like James bond...

Can't they just make a port with online support? It'd be a shit load more succesful, a lot better recieved critically, a lot more fun, and shit ton less effort. But no, they decide to give us Call of Dookie: James Bond Edition: With Daniel Craig Because We Know You Hate Him.

Forget everything you loved or hated about the N64 original. This is Call of Duty: GoldenEye. If you like whack-a-mole, QTE boss battles, and grindfest multiplayer you're gonna love this. If you hate all that stuff this game is not for you. If you want a shooter about a superspy with cool gadgets go dig up a copy of No One Lives Forever.

I did not like this game. There was quite a bit of fun to be had, but that was spoiled by a rather lot of aggravation. Being bitched out by Dame Judy Dench for sucking in multiplayer is a wonderful trip though. Hopefully the PS360 version will include a way to play both with and against you friends.

Also, this trailer spoiled the story's twist. I know it's a remake of an old movie and that anyone who cares should already know but seriously?

The Wii game was not a remake, it was an entirely new game loosely inspired by the N64 game. This is a remake of that, not the original. My interest level is so high it almost peaks into the positive numbers.

P.S. Thanks

P.P.S. Ad-driven captchas? Tryin' to drive people away or something?

I'm sorry but fuck the remakes. I HATE Daniel Craig as bond >.>

Wait, nobody liked the new Goldeneye? Not surprising...
THANK YOU! Daniel Craig (while being a good actor) is awful as bond, and tbh just can't beat the likes of Peirce Brosnan and Sean Connery

OT: If it uses the COD engine like they did in quantum of solace it should be pretty damn good (maybe enough to finally topple COD (Highly unlikely :p))

Remaking the story was dumb dumb dumb. Of all the Bonds of the 90's, really all of them from the whole franchise until Casino Royale (same director - big coincidence), Goldeneye was my favorite. It had goofy henchmen and oddball bad guys, and a couple of gadgets that were less than real world, true. But it also had the best story. Goldeneye was a better revenge story by far than License to kill. Why make Valentino and Famke Jansen's characters uninteresting? And I don't think they even INCLUDED the tubby CIA dipshit who debuted in the movie.

Everyone loved Goldeneye for the Wii. Everyone but me. It put me to sleep.

I didn't enjoy the direction they took with the last Bond. Maybe Golden Eye was just a product of its time and should stay there, but all the updates they gave to the gameplay was a major turnoff for me. Classes, two-weapon limit, gutted maps, poor selection of characters. They didn't even have lasers if I remember correctly. The only good thing in that entire game was Oddjob's hat.

Also, Perfect Dark was basically the perfect console shooter when it was released. Golden Eye rides on a wave of nostalgia, and I wish we would focus on Joanna instead. Unfortunately, the attempts to bring these two into the modern age are laughably bad.

Obviously, I'm not excited for this game. Maybe if it were released for $20 on PSN. It, being a remake of a game on the N64, is not worth full retail price.

You will go get Mr.Brosnan and you will make his ass play Bond....not Daniel Craig...he wasnt in Goldeneye....

Go find the N64 version...buff it....put a $60 price tag on it...make it have Online MP AND Local MP and you will do just fine

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING THIS MAN SAYS!!!

We need Brosnan to play Bond, fuck Daniel Craig!

Can't wait for this game

Wow, I feel like the minority here....

* Personally, I loved the GoldenEye reimagining on the Wii. Hell, I was great with the Wiimote/Nunchuck combo. Given what they had to work with, the game came out brilliantly.

* Daniel Craig was great in Casino Royale (not so much in Quantum of Solace). It was closer to Fleming's novels than the other Bonds were.

* That said, I miss Pierce Brosnan. I grew up with him as Bond. GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough. Those were great movies, and he definitley has a certain charm to him. But he does not want to come back as Bond. (I'm not making this up: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,673018,00.html) And Craig is the current Bond, so he's in there.

I'm no fan of Activision. I'm tired of yearly CoD releases. But reimagining GoldenEye was a great move, and it was made better by the developers: Eurocom. (Who are experienced with the 007 license, with two good 007 games under their belt: the N64 version of The World is Not Enough, and the console version of Nightfire).

I bought the Wii version, but I'll be buying this one to, if anything, just so my friends feel like they stand a chance against me in multiplayer (they don't).

I never even paid attention to the Wii version because of how crappy Rare always made aiming in their games and me not caring enough about anything James Bond enough to look into if they fixed it. But if they're going to give the PS3 version move support, maybe I'll pay attention to this version.
Rare didn't make the Wii version. Activision did and it plays more like a Call of Duty game than the original.

Whaaaaaaaa?
Yeah, it was panned. That's why it has a - 81 score on metacritic?

Oh, nevermind then.

Really?
I never really check metacritic. Plus, I never heard much talk about it over the internet, and the talk I did hear generally wasn't positive.
Ah well.

I don't really care if Daniel Craig is in this. Obviously I would prefer Brosnan to take the staring role because......... its Goldeneye, however I can understand if this is the way its got to be.

Couldn't they have got Sean Bean in though? He does voice over work for everything these days in the UK you can't watch a single advertisement without hearing his legendary Yorkshire accent. The man is a hero (he's Sharpe!!) and Alec Trevelyan isn't the same without him, and (SPOILERS!!!) he dies at the end so it wouldn't break Sean Beans current run of roles.
