Tomorrow I am going to a book clearance where every book is under $5. I need recommendations for good books to buy. The types of books I enjoy include Ranger's Apprentice, LOTR, Night Angel Trilogy and the Temeraire series.

By the way, If you're in Adelaide head on down to the show grounds for the clearance sale.

Song of Ice and Fire, the whole thing (or well, by the first book, read, and you'll probably get the rest). Tramples Tolkien into the dust.

Anything by Jim Butcher(Codex Alera/Dresden Files).
The Iron Elves series by Chris Evans is pretty good as is the Twilight Reign series by Tom Lloyd.
The Nightside series by Simon R. Green are usually good reads.
The Night Angel series by Brent Weeks

If your willing to branch out a little than there's the Twenty Palaces series by Harry Connolly, Sandman Slim by Richard Kadrey, and Black Magic Woman by Justin Gustainis.

And if your interested in Sci-Fi lemme know cause then I could recommend more.

I have heard that it's a good book, what is it about?

It's a series, first book is Game of Thrones. Basically think fantasy, but no good/bad (everyone's motives make sense, and noone's explicitly good or evil), extremely well-written characters, phrases, etc. (helps immersion), excellent pacing, but most importantly - it's the lack of good and evil that makes it more mature, deep and realistic than >99% of literature out there. Really, it's "fantasy" only as much as, say, the Master and Margarita is.

Thank you, I shall have to look for it.

Try Douglas Reeman, He writes mainly Second World War books, but they are pretty awesome, I know it's not really fantasy, but give him a go if you get the chance.
