Dr. Martens are the only way to go when it comes to boots. Ultra durable, incredibly comfy and all around awesome shoes.

I am looking for some new boots, but I am so confused about what to buy. I feel like I hate most boots out there, they just seem so ugly to me.

So to maybe give me some ideas I would like to know what everyone on the Escapists boot of choice is!? Share your thoughts, opinions, pictures and stories about BOOTS.
See below.

Coming from a 24 y/o hetero male, those zippered ones at the top are delicious.

I think you can infer from that, Rose, what kind of boots I recommend you get.

I'm a big fan of Docs myself. They're comfortable, sturdy, and they'll last you forever. I love mine.

They are nice, but they're rather impractical, which may just have something to do with why you don't see them around more.

This is the first thing that came to mind when seeing the topic:

As an Australian, my mind boggles at the concept of people willingly wearing ugg boots in public that aren't from the 'mullet and skin-tight jeans' set...
Well atleast I know what you don't like. There are many things that boggle my mind as well, but someones personal taste in apparel was never one of them.

I had a pair of sheepskin boots from Australia, and I wore the hell out of them. So soft, so warm, I loved those boots. I need another pair, as I outgrew them some years ago. Still, go sheepskin, they're amazing.

It's a cultural thing tied up with socio-economic stigma.

Still... for people interested in obtaining some ugg boots, I'd recommend they get them from a company like Blue Mountains Ugg Boots and not from a bunch of corporate bellends like UGG (who tried to stop Australian ugg boot makers being able to use the name 'ugg boot').

I think I've only seen bikers or fetish people wear boots like that IRL...

The classic Magnum of course :p

Magnum make great boots, had one pair for about 4 years now and they're still in good nick, the backs of the soles have only just started to wear down. In fact I love them so much that I actually have two pairs, on account of the place I buy my boots from shutting down, and them selling them cheaper than most place.

Given my disinterest in fashion, boots are something that I take on female levels of gushiness over. Truth be told they are very militaristic though, although that's part of the reason I like them.

The new stealth model is pretty sexy too, something about them just sort of makes them look...mecha. I think it's the leather style plating. It's a shame the 360 view can't be embedded because they are seriously awesome. Although they do run at about £110...which as much as I love them, really runs beyond what I feel comfortable spending on piece of clothing.

Although, I have to admit, I do have a soft spot for the right kind of Docs.

I'm not a huge fan of black boots.
Come now, the black version of those with the tartan inlay are fucking hot ^^ The ribbon I'm not so sure about though, seems a bit juxtaposed.

Demonia Maybe?

Are you Male or Female though? as I would have to change my recomendation based on that.

But either way if it's NOT for work boots then they are a very good start.

I have a pair and so does my GF so regardless I can still come up with something that may help.

so... they can look amazing with the right attire and are far more unique than most of the things women seem to wear these days...

Ahh boots, how I love them. My feet are a little bit awkward though so it's hard for me to find ones that fit and are comfortable, durable and look good at the same time. I have these though from Clarks in England,

http://www.clarks.co.uk/p/20340917

Gods they are so nice! So very comfy and go with everything I wear. I can walk in them all day. My next pair of boots shall be these beautiful boots:

http://www.clarks.co.uk/p/20351507

I tend to favour shorter boots, I just think they look better than knee high boots sometimes. I may have to research more and try on more knee high boots and see how I feel, it's probably just because I haven't found the right pair yet!
I must say, you got me looking at around the clarks selection and I am finding some boots I actually really like. I love the brown ankle highs with zippers at the side! We have similar taste. I also prefer shorter over knee high.

I already own a pair of clarks shoes and really love them, so maybe I'll give these Clarks boots a try. I was actually going to get an UGG, but I wasn't really sure. Thats why I started this topic to get some ideas, thanks! :)
You're welcome, glad I could help! :D Clarks suprises me, I never used to like them, I was young and thought they were all old fashioned stuff but I have seen the light! Most comfy shoes I have ever owned.

I also don't like the heat, it is like I am in a constant hot flash. The summer can be pretty harsh on me. I also like those UGGS/Australian sheep skin boots. I'm afraid they might be TOO warm though.

I look at birthdays as a depressing day that I would rather not celebrate. Being a year older doesn't seem like a reason for me to be happy. I would do anything for immortality.

I think you look fine in your pic, being drunk is a favorite past time of mine. Don't put yourself down! Also to answer your college/uni question, I actually went to bartending school in downtown Toronto after highschool. Other than that, I never did any other schooling as I was never great in school, I almost went to Humber though. Where did you go?
LoL Don't worry about me putting myself down, if anything I suffer from narcissism and could afford to be taken down a few notches. Confidence isn't usually one of my weak areas, maybe a little with the opposite sex for some odd reason as I still have a bit of shyness in me, but than there's that magical liquid that makes everything all better. I bet you're one of those really sociable hot bartenders aren't you lol. Anyways being too warm in the dead of winter is better than being too cold, as getting your boyfriend to give you a foot message can only bring back so much of the circulation.

Also animals like crocodiles aren't really immortal, they just have no finite age and don't suffer from old age effects like Telomere degeneration (which causes your skin to wrinkle and thin) Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Cancer etc. So a 10 year old crock has the same energy as a 70 year old crock. Oddly enough animals with no finite age like crocks, sharks also have no finite size. They'll keep growing bigger until the day they die, and are all but immune to things like cancer. Mostly UFT by the way.

Don't look that warm

Also don't look that warm, but you're going too need long legs to pull that look off. Don't imagine they would look that great if you're too short.
