Just a word of warning for people playing Borderlands 2 on the Xbox 360, there is a bug around that if someone with a modded console activates the badass mode and someone joins a public game with them and they die they can also permanently lose their character.

Badass mode cannot be activated without a modded console, badass mode gives better loot and abilities and things but it also has permadeath. Even if someone joins them in a multiplayer game but doesn't have badass mode on it automatically applies it to all players.

There are rumors that people are doing it on purpose to get other peoples characters deliberately deleted. Gearbox have promised to patch it but have said it will take time, they have recommended that Xbox players should avoid public games until its fixed.

Yeah I read about this earlier, another reason I'm only gonna play solo or online with people I know.

Why didn't they include this "Badass mode" from the get go, making it playable to people without modded consoles?
dlc?
or maybe a scraped idea that they were to lazy to remove from the disc? dunno.

I was hoping this was for some sort of badass bug enemy, since I have yet to finish a playthrough. Good thing I don't mod anything; have you considered that option?

It's not a modded "Console". It's a modded save. Which doesn't require a modded console at all. Just a thumb drive and a save editor.

Very flattering to see you made an account and your first post was a reply here, thanks for the correction though. In all honesty I just quoted the article. I do not play Borderlands 2 on the Xbox so I have no experience of it, I wanted to warn people about the bug and save them having a character deleted.

Either way it doesn't matter whether a console needed to be modded or not for this exploit/bug to work, its the effect is has on the unsuspecting player that is important.
