Looks pretty sweet and only four months to go! However, I prefer getting more stuff that helps you in-game rather than plastic crap to put on my shelf, so I'll probably just go for the 'Deluxe' edition rather than the 'Ultimate' edition.

Also: Mechromancer?

It's cute. It's not a hundred and fifty bucks worth of cute, but it's cute.

merchandise don't grow on trees.
I got cards to post,
I got books to store,
There ain't nothing in this world for free.
I know I can't price down,
I can't hold back,
Though you know, I wish I could.
No there ain't no rest for the wallet,
Until the franchise ends for good.
Well, now the upstairs neighbors are wondering why that idiot who lives under them is laughing uncontrollably at 12:30 in the morning.

If that loot chest is the actual container for the set, folds out like the loot chest with all of the stuff on display like they were guns and ammo, and makes that cool opening noise, then it's pretty much worth every dollar.

Course, if I had that kind of money, I'd also put it in a tiny cubby hole behind a concealed door in my room.

Failing that, I'd just put it at the top of the highest point of the building.

edit: while the marcus bobblehead isn't exactly as iconic as say, claptrap, it is the main form of higher currency for no apparent reason, so it is of note anyway

This better not be a US only deal, like too many collectors editions in the past, are developers allergic to Punds Sterling or something... WHY WON'T THEY TAKE MY MONEY T_T

Not massively looking forward to Borderlands 2 since I didn't think the original was all that amazing but that limited edition chest is pretty awesome even to me.

Since I live in Australia, I'll probably only be able to afford the Deluxe Vault Hunter's edition. But even that'll be more than enough swag for me... If I could scrounge up enough birthday money for the Loot Chest, though, that'll be the best belated birthday present EVER.

Love Borderlands 1, BL2 I've heard is even better...Hardly any risk, even.

so ._. yeah was iffy about getting it and now i REALLY want that replica loot chest. Those are a classic to me. Very recognizable.

Is it just me or does anyone else want all that stuff to actually be IN the loot chest when you get it?
And I want it packed in dry ice so smoke comes out when I open it.
I usually just get the regular version of a game (the exception is my Fallout 3 Lunchbox edition which I got as a gift) but I played Borderlands so much I kind of feel obligated to get the ultimate edition. That and the Marcus bobblehead & Vending machine will look nice next to my Vault Boy bobblehead.
See but that makes awesome sense having a gaming bobble head collection so you should def get every special edition from here on out with a bobble head in it lol. As for me i really could do without the bobble head. I dont feel Marcus was as iconic to the game as fallout boy was to fallout. and yeah as of late ._. im starting to get sucked into the special editions a lot. They are just getting a lot better over all. Got screwed out of getting the diablo one because i pre-ordered too late :c i wanted ze art book and angel wings!
I don't know if I'll be getting every one. Borderlands just has a special place in my heart as I played it so damn much. And for us (the people I play it with; yea, we still play it), Marcus is much more iconic because we know someone who is exactly like him.

That is a lot of stuff. These guys are doing everything right with Borderlands 2. I can't wait to shower them with money.
Randy Pitchford is so awesome I can forgive him for his involvement in Duke Nukem Forever.

I'd sleep with that loot chest.
Sadly don't have the cash to get it. Hopefully we can talk them into making more after release.

I bet that chest will just be a crappy plastic piece of shit, but that's my cynicism talking.

Anyway I love Gearbox to bits, what was wrong with the first game? The PC version sucked and the environments were dull, and behold, they spruced up both aspects as well as all the usual sequel changes. I'm definitely pre ordering this game, but just the game thanks. Collectors editions just seem like a rip off to me.

I read this article earlier this afternoon. I then went to work for a bit, and as soon as I got off I preordered the Super Duper Awesome Mega Loot edition. I had my problems with the first game, but the glimmers of an amazing rather than really good game were there. With all my major problems being addressed in the sequel, this was a no brainer. Both the bobblehead and the chest will look awesome in my room.

It's worth noting that they also jacked the price of the PC edition up from $49.99 to $59.99 with this.

Stupid me canceled my Amazon preorder to get the ultra-mega edition, saw that they don't have "release date shipping" available, and canceled that one to go back to standard, so I'm out the lowest price guarantee, too.

Fuck.

I'm playing BL again with a friend, it's a pity the online infrastructure is an ungodly piece of shit.
That was my main issue too, and idk about other people, but on PS3 the voip for me started to get really garbled after a couple hours vault hunting with a friend.

OT: Is the ultimate edition available in the UK? I wants it > >
It'll probably be £150 and therefor a "no-fucking-way-in-hell" edition.

Meh. DLC Character classes? Oh cripes, it's going to be that Dungeon Defenders bullshit all over again.

I'm going to wait on the "GOTY" Edition. The only part of this set that interests me is that sweet Loot Box.

I certainly won't be purchasing the limited edition, 'cause I really dun' like that guy. I'm surprised they didn't use the iconic Claptrap instead! Kind of disappointing, really.

I'll definitely be pre-ordering the game though! Can't wait! Now it's just a question of whether I'll play co-op or solo.

When I saw "Steel book case" I immediately thought it meant something like

A steel bookcase
So I thought "Wow that seems a bit impractical how are they going to stock this?" Then I thought about it and kicked myself.

Preordered that and ACIII, the only two things I have left to look forward to this year.

If the game is only as good as the first one I'll be pleased thoroughly.

Anyone else here getting B2 should friend up so we can Co-op when it releases .

I don't understand the whole "Gearbox guns" thing, isn't the whole game about finding random loot? And having (Most likely) OP guns that you will never replace until you are max level, kinda defeats the point...
Seeing as how the first game did the same thing, and the guns were only marginally useful for the first few levels, I doubt it's gonna be much issue.

I'm finding it VERY hard to care about this game, in any degree. The "exclusive" class doesn't do it any favors in my eyes
