Borderlands 2 Tech support!

I started palying Borderlands 2 today, and it is awsome! However my PC is suffering from severe FPS drops when things get hectic even with minimum settings.

I just wanted to know, since I seem to meet recomended standard. Is Borderlands 2 for PC poorly optimised?

I've been playing it with 50-70 fps with a AMD 6870 and 1090T Phenom six core maxed out in 1080 so I don't think it is badly optimized.

Laptop/Desktop? What are your specs? Updated your drivers lately?
