Borderlands GotY Edition - is it worth it?

A few friends and I are going to our friends house for a week so we're likely going to be playing a lot of online/coop games on our 360s, we're all a bit short on cash at the moment but we were considering picking up Borderlands

I had a look at the prices for Borderlands online, there is a big price difference between the standard copy and the game of the year version which obviously includes all the DLC, but in my experience a lot of DLC hasn't been worth the price, and I'm not sure about reviews as I often think them to be quite biased, I'd prefer to hear opinions off fellow consumers

Tl:dr Borderlands DLC, worth it?

If you plan on playing it extensively even after yalls hangout, I would suggest you think about the dlc package. If you all will only play it this one time and then maybe a couple times after, just get the base game itself. If you do really like the game, you could always pick up the dlc later.

The questions is: Are you going to finish this game? Twice?
If the answer to one or both is yes, then get the DLC. You'll hit 50 probably about midway through the second playthrough, depending a bit on how much extra stuff you kill, and running out at that point is mildly frustrating. The raising of the level cap is especially nice at that point.

So, it is if you plan on getting to that point. Otherwise, don't.

I definitely had lots of fun playing the game. With the exception of Moxxi's Underdome all the DLC are just more of the same awesome stuff of the original so yeah, it's worth it.
