Borderlands help!

I've been playing Borderlands since it came out, and unfortunately, most of the time i've been playing it in Single Player, why? you might ask?. I cannot connect to any multiplayer games, and then once I can connect to, I get booted for not connecting. I have a very reliable and fast internet (Verizon FiOs) so I don't understand what to do. Is this a common problem that can be fixed? or will I have to play this game in ALL Single Player (Which would suck, a lot)

What console are you playing on? I may... be able to help if it is PSN, not sure though

If it's the PC version you have to go into your router and muck around a bit. I can't remember where I read it, but I believe there is a hosting port either you or your friend (assuming you just want to play with someone you know) needs to click open.

I know i was getting timed out when I tried to play multiplayer, but once I opened up the hosting port it worked just fine.

Has never to happened to me on 360.. Maybe its your NAT type? I have no idea

yeah, I hear the PC version has some issues, the consoles are taking over!

Dood if it's PC you have to either

A- Port Forward
B- Download Gameranger to bipass shitty gamespy

As before mentioned, you need to tell us what your platform is. The bottom line is, because end-users themselves are hosting the servers, your router has to be given specific instructions to allow game data to be recieved by you on the ports (like channels) the game wants to use. This data is ignored by default as a normal part of the router's firewall function.

If you're a PC user, you have some third-party software alternatives to consider if you feel like it.
