So recently ive been playing Borderlands again because of the recent cut (50% off) in prices for the DLC. I havn't played in a long time for two reasons. One being i completed the game, got all the achievments and filled my backpack with all Orange class rares. Secondly, I downloaded the Zombie Zed DLC and was incredibly disappointed with it, making me never want to download another DLC again!

Well, here i am, ive downloaded the secret armory because of the price cut, my friend has it and ive also heard its the best DLC for Borderlands, topping Zombie Zed's by tenfold (which i toally agree withm best DLC ive ever purchased!). Now to arrowhead this thread, i went on today hoping to play with others and have a good ol' treasure hunt... but to my disappointment, there was only a handfull of people online. I remeber when BL first came out you could join a party of 4 straight away. Today however it was rather hard to find a game with more than one person. I tried hosting my own game for people to join. 5 hours of single player by myself and NOONE JOINED! Dammit, Crawmerax wont kill itself!
What im saying is, have you ever returned to a game you loved for some reason only to find that the community has left and abandoned the servers?

(Try finding a game on FarCry2! I dare you!)

Yes. I have recently started playing Borderlands again just purely because the DLC was cheap... and I was disappointed to find that getting into a game with others was very difficult. Whenever I did manage to get into a game with other people, they had hacked weapons that made me cry.

I honestly can't say I've ever come back to a game to find the community deserted. I usually stuck with single player on most games up until a while ago.

As for Borderlands, I can't really say. I beat the game once and was disappointed with the ending. I did play online a couple times, but even then it was with two friends and any random stranger that joined. The one thing that really spiced up the game for me after a while was making weapons. It was just kind of fun to design guns. Even then I never took them online. I wish that they had only prevented the guns from online, rather than all together.
I wish the game let you mod weapons though.

I never had this problem as I always preferred Borderlands solo.

Also, did anyone else find the Loot in the Armoury to be rather shite?

I went from level 50 to 61 and didn't find one gun in that entire DLC that was better than the Hellfire SMG I found at level 39.

I found awsome shit in there, a high powered double anarchy and a lv 61 serpens (with scope).

There's always the Borderlands forums if you want to set up some games with good people. I'm extremely sad to see a game that's so unique and brimming with good idea's like Borderlands lose it's mainstream community so quickly.

Yeah the loot was kinda crap, but the actual content was pretty great, and it actually had more story in it than the entire game did, sorta.

Yeah, nobody plays it anymore, especially on PC. I originally had it for the 360 around launch time, and I sold it awhile back. It was really cheap on Steam recently, so I bought it and there's only a few people still playing multiplayer.

I still play Borderlands every now and then, but also mostly singleplayer. I alwasy tend to find areas I've never been to before, or things I've never seen before.

Borderlands only really stood out because it actually supported split screen. When I play multiplayer I do so with friends, usually who are in the same room on the same or different tvs. But it was short with little replay value because of samey-samey grind. Shooting the same 6 enemies over and over with little reward. Found the best guns 2/3 of the way through the first run through. Schlogged through a 2nd playthrough without ever finding better. That's why I lost interest.

I guess I must have gotten unlucky with the weapons drops then. I felt so underpowered towards the end, it was taking forever to down baddies even with my fully pimped out Lilith and using the right kind of elements on each enemy.

I must go back to Borderlands, I had great fun playing it.
