Okay so I have heard good things about Borderlands and have been thinking about getting it for a while. Well my xbox is dead due to a RRoD after 7 years of abuse by me and my brothers and I really don't feel like going out and getting it on the Playstation.
On Steam there are two versions GotY Edition then GotY- Four Pack. The GotY is for $30 while the four pack is $90. I am looking at the GotY edition for the Xbox and PS3 and they both have all of the expansions with the game but the one on Steam seems like it won't have any of the Expansions with the game.

Should I buy the game off of steam or just get a new Xbox which I am planning on doing soon and just get the GotY edition with that?

The Borderlands GotY comes with all of the DLC.

You just missed the sale where it was up for like $5 though. It was actually cheaper to buy the GotY than to buy any one of the dlcs. Kind of silly, but oh well.

GOTY comes with all four DLC expansion packs. I find PC's superior to the kind of experiance Borderlands offers, but the game (especially it's multiplayer) is definatly designed for console.

That tends to happen with GOTY editions, though it could also depend on retailer. The Fallout 3 GOTY with the game + all DLC was half the price of the DLC packs put together if you bought it from Amazon. That's without it being on sale.

If you have people close by READY TO PLAY IT WITH YOU, then yes go for PC.

If you find random people appealing, then stay far, far away. By far one of the worst PC online experiences I have ever had.

Oh, I can't connect to some people, oh now I can, OH NOW SOMEONE ELSE CAN'T JOIN THE HOST WHEN THEY COULD BEFORE. Oh the game lags with someone one state over, awesome!

Single-Player, I am confined to you!

The single player isn't THAT bad.

No loot sharing, for one!

Unless you're a hunter, or support-type soldier...Solo Hunter makes me fall asleep. >_>
