With the recent release of Borderlands by gearbox and 2k games, it seemed likely for those who wanted a "Falloutesque" multiplayer experience to pick up a copy. However it has come to my own attention that rather than a ambraced lovechild of Halo and Diablo after a bit of an orgy with fallout, Borderlands has taken to its own feet and started sprinting and it hasnt stoped running since.

I play Halo, I play fallout and I play Diablo and I get the odd Oh shit did his head just pop like a pocket full of fireworks and gunpowder mixed with bull semen, but CONSTANTLY it happens in Borderlands its so much fun and so like its parent(s), that it's nothing like them at the same time. So what I want to know is what you think?

Oh and I love the art style lol

I like it's cell shaded art style, it's very XIII.

I'm very inclined to buy it for my new laptop. Co op is always good fun with a group of friends.

My friend who was their level played lilith but used snipers, and we had a level 15 mordecai I was lilith using my elemental repeater and my other friend who was 14 or so was Roland using alot of different guns. Although I feel I may be behind on new guns since I didn't really get any from when we played.

best thing to find weapon, well for me anyway is to go hunting, I play as a hunter, picked up and Awesome sniper with fire damage and 530 damage, I was just driving and saw some fellow in the distance so I killed him and took this sniper, nice gun I use it to tag enemies with fire so Brick and Lilith can see them.

GOOD:

Gorgeous open world

Solid shooting mechanics

Amazing guns and lots of variety

Fun, arcadey vibe and good sense of humour

So much fun

BAD:

A little too much fun... as in majorly addictive

Far too easy to get momentarily stuck on bits of scenery while on foot (incredibly annoying during skag fights)

Far too easy to get momentarily stuck on bits of scenery while driving

One or two bosses have some downright cheap attack patterns

Um... that's about it really

I've got a gun that does 19 dmg and x3 fire, it's worked so far, I also use the bone shredder the bone head drops.

Hmmm your right there only the cheap attacks are a little off, Ask yourself this what else could they attack with?

I have no problem with the things they attack with, only the way in which they do so.

Examples:

Mothrakk... the only way to dodge its stupid fireballs is to run around in circles looking upinto the sky, like a crazy Benny Hill reject, which is not a whole lot of fun when you keep getting stuck on three foot high rocks

Mad Mel... Repeatedly fired rockets at me so the screen filled with smoke. I had no idea where anything was as my view was totally obscured, so I just had to wait for death, which came swiftly.

Skagzilla was a very well done fight though, it was tough but fair.

Your right skag was fun, I see where your coming from but I'm an old style kinda gamer back in the days when they just messed with screen or gave the enemy x1000000000000000000000 health for shats and gaggles, so smoke and fireballs were no more than a nipping at my sides(plus I snipe, I'm the scourge of humanity). But to the strategic of us it can get boring quickly.

Me too, I've been a gamer for 19 years, and I would lean the other way in that I love how todays games are generally more accessible and only insanely tough if you put them on the hardest setting.

That said though, Borderlands has one of the best difficulty curves in any game I've played. It's constantly challenging but once you do a few side missions and level up you feel empowered and ready to take on the world.

That was kinda my biggest problem, I got an amazing revolver love it to bits and said you know screw I tried a quest 6 levels higher purely cause I had this gun and failed numerous times lol

I've only played single player so far, and this is by far the best game I've bought since Fallout 3.

The revolvers in the game just kick so much ass... when you get to level 14/15 they start dealing insane damage, I found a scoped one that dishes out 217 damage... it's like having a mini sniper rifle that fires quicker!

It's amazing how much difference levelling makes too, you can get your ass kicked by bandit bruisers, level up once and completely destroy them.

They knew what they were doing when they started work, no one likes losing and starting at the top of the pile isnt fun in a RPG so they put you at the bottemstick a HANDCANNON on your palms and set you loose till 10 levels later when you get PWNED by something bigger and then you get a new gun. Great game.

Hard as fuck, the ending was very 'bwuh?', but all in all, I liked it alot. It really was a great game.
