It's the best open worlder besides F3 and Oblivion, its like the took the good bits from Far Cry 2 and set it in a cartoon capital wasteland.

It is not nearly as story driven as F3 though so bear that in mind.

Im not sure about getting Borderlands, then again I have finally 100%'d Fallout 3 so I need something else...

It's essentially WoW with more guns, condensed into 4 player open world co-op.
I was pretty iffy on it, too, but it's totally worth the money.
