Borderlands is an amazing game, from the rpg and fps elements, to the huge worlds, to the numerous amounts of guns (one can only hope since they tried to sell the game on that since day 1), and finally the humorous elements of the game all come together to make an amazing game. The game starts out a bit slow to show you the fundamental controls and mission structure, how to get them, turn them in, etc. However, right after the tutorial (which is only about two or three mission) I was having a blast. I found the combat extremely satisfying just watching my gun blaze up half my screen and hearing the enemies scream and fall; then, of course, grabbing all the crap that they had. Ok, the huge worlds. The worlds are huge, like, I played oblivion and borderlands is very close to the world size, except oblivion as mostly one huge map and borderlands is many medium sized maps. This also creates a huge negative. It?s a pain to have to get around, could they have at least put in a damn hover board like in VCTF in UT3? However, it can be fun cause u kill more enemies, get more loot, and more experience points (-.1pts). I?m going to clear this up because all of my friends keep asking me, how many guns are there? The bottom line is, I don?t know, no one knows, no one can count that many guns and not have their brain hurt. You constantly find new guns most of which you will sell because you have much better ones, and they?re all awesome. The one disappointment were the alien guns, the ones I found were extremely slow but they did pretty awesome damage, but the lack of rapid fire was a huge disappointment. The game was hilarious, the robots were constantly beat boxing and saying, ?look at me everyone, I?m dancing! I?m dancing!? Each time I saw this I had to stop playing and watch, it was just down right awesome. The leveling up system can be better, I played the entire game as the soldier, however I did use other characters to get achievements and soldier remained my favorite. Let me say this, it?s extremely unfair that other characters get amazing upgrades, don?t get me wrong the soldier has kick-ass upgrades, but other characters *cough* hunter *cough* have kick-ass upgrades x2. Overall it was a great game but I had one HUGE problem with it after I beat it. The ending SUCKS, you don?t get jack-shit for beating the main boss, the weapons he drops are shit, and then the plot isn?t even resolved! (-.7pts)I. HATE. CLIFFHANGER. ENDINGS. But then my friend and I began to have another amazing experience by playing playthrough two, on the road to level 50 woohoo? Overall, the game is amazing, you should go get it, just don?t look forward to the ending? 9.2/10.
